Gigantic hotel - oversized hotel

We had a very pleasant stay at the Maritim Hotel Cologne. Upon arrival, we were seduced by the warm and professional welcome of the staff, always available and attentive. This first positive impression was confirmed throughout our stay.
Our room was comfortable, clean and well equipped, providing a relaxing setting after our visiting days. The quality bedding and the calm of the space contributed greatly to our comfort.
Breakfast was also a real pleasure: varied, generous and composed of fresh products. The choice allows everyone to find their happiness, and the atmosphere of the buffet is pleasant.
However, a few points deserve to be highlighted. The hotel is huge, almost outsized, which can give a slightly impersonal impression and make internal travel less fluid. Moreover, we had to restart the reception twice to make the room, a surprising detail and below what is expected of a four-star property.
Overall, we have a great memory of our stay, but some adjustments in the organization would further strengthen the experience.

The breakfast was another highlight: generous, varied, and made with fresh products. The wide selection ensures that everyone finds something they enjoy, and the buffet atmosphere is pleasant.
There are, however, a couple of points worth mentioning. The hotel is huge, almost overwhelmingly so, which can make it feel a bit impersonal and sometimes complicate moving around inside the building. In addition, we had to contact the reception twice before housekeeping came to service the room — something rather unexpected for a hotel that presents itself as a four-star establishment.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay, but a few adjustments in daily operations would make the experience even better.

Short stay

We stayed for 2 nights at this property and I must say it was a positive experience. Starting with the top location as it is close to the center and the station, everything is within walking distance. The convenience of the parking garage under the hotel if someone were to arrive by car at a cost of €32 per day. There is no possibility of parking elsewhere. Kind staff and super breakfast. There is everything imaginable, from sweet to savory. Truly wow. Spacious and clean rooms. Only the decor is vintage style but functional. I recommend this hotel if you want to visit the city of Cologne

Dated furniture but fantastic staff

We stayed here for two nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. 1 exception was the lady at the pool counter, who found her mobile more exciting, I think. Breakfast was very good. Room was beautiful by the beautiful view. Room and also eg the breakfast room for the premium guests is really corny. And the music in the breakfast room is a mystery, a few sounds now and then. They should listen to that for themselves.

Clean, comfortable room. A slightly noisy air conditioner but we were happy to have it act as white noise as the hotel was (unexpectedly) smack bang in the middle of Koln Pride festival! Having said that, the hotel had good sound proofing so we managed to sleep - even with a kid! Good breakfast, nice shower. The pool was tiny so couldn’t use it to exercise unfortunately. We had a pleasant stay.
