Poor and nothing like the pictures

The hotel was poor and in need of some serious maintenance
The back gardens were strewn with rubbish and the “pool” empty while tiles were stripped off
The breakfast was awful- there are pictures posted by another user and they do not lie
The whole hotel is deathly quiet and lit like an old library. You feel guilty if any noise is made
The staff were friendly and nice. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere

Service was impeccable. The room was oversized, quiet and worked for our needs. Parking was perfect and easy. Breakfast was nice, good coffee. The hammam would have been nice to enjoy had we had the time. Korfu, the Greek restaurant a few doors down made for a nice end to our long days drive and event in the park with dinner and great service by Kevin.
The hotel is dated and could use some new flooring and furniture refinishing. The bedding and towels were white and good.

Well, to begin with there was a traffic accident on the autobahn north of Dresden that day. It took us four hours to travel about 9 km. So it was dark when we arrived, but we had confirmed reservation thru an online booking site. When we arrived at the hotel/hostel, we were, needless to say, exhausted, stressed, and ready to relax. We were, however, told at the desk that we had no room, that our reservation was "changed". The young man attending the desk at the time was very apologetic and was very helpful in locating us another place to stay, at the same price. It was, however, located, WAY to the east of neustadt Dresden. Now we had never been to Dresden before, so we were totally unfamiliar with the layout. [Oh, I forgot to say that while the helpful young man was helping us get reservations somewhere else and patiently helping us to make sure we knew how to drive there in our rented car, his boss/supervisor/manager was constantly walking past the desk giving the clerk the "what's taking you so long" look about every other minute.] So we finally made it to our new place; by this time it was around 8:00 PM. The place turned out to be an apartment over looking Dresden. We found a great little bistro still open, had a wonderful meal; and then went to our place and went to sleep. The next morning we had a superb breakfast, the best on our whole trip. But then we had to get busy to return the rental car; get to the hauptbahnhof by noon to catch out train to Berlin. We made it with about a half an hour to spare. We saw nothing of Dresden that we wanted to see. And to top it all off, the train was an hour and a half late. The Villa de Baron is certainly not on my recommend list.
