Little Gem
This place is in a great location and the host, Ruth is very accommodating. She knows the area well and so it helps for planning a meal out or day trips.
Place is keyless entry and very clean. An older building but as I was told by the owner she is gradually renovating (Covid delayed some things) three floors and different rooms with TV , tea or coffee - also mini bar.
All in all a warm, clean and inviting place to stay.

Terrible, wouldn't stay there again
The location was spot on right near the train station and the shops/restaurants with a 25 minute to the lake front. The room was classed as a budget twin room and we always travel budget but this was terrible. The room was very tiny with a stained, sticky carpet; little storage so we had to leave a suitcase on the bit of floorspace between the beds to keep our things in. There was a plug socket over bed just below ceiling height and a bathroom where you had to squeeze sideways past the sink to get to shower. Once in the shower there was nowhere to put shower gel etc and no space to shut the shower door or move around to wash. I'm a size 10/12 so it would impossible for someone bigger. He ballcock 9n the toilet was faulty and the cistern was do noisy all night, constantly filling up the tank. However on the plus side,
the beds were comfy and there was a hairdryer and kettle.

Definitely not the Ritz
For the price I wasn't expecting the Ritz. But the minimum I expect from a guest house is somewhere clean and warm with a comfy bed. Lingmoor failed on all accounts. A miserable experience. It was better out on the fells in the wind and rain than sleeping here. Avoid at all costs!

Worst guest house in Windermere
Truly the worst guest house in Windermere. I realised when booking that there was no breakfast served in Lingmoor but I did not realise that the host did not live on site and it was a hassle to contact them when I had an issue with the room.
We had booked a twin room and it was truly awful. The room is very cramped and needed updating urgently with broken furniture and hard and uncomfortable beds. The walls are paper thin so if you enjoy lying in bed listening to other people then this is the place for you. The shower in the bathroom took ages to warm up with little pressure.
The whole experience was so off putting that we left this dreadful place midway through our holiday and checked into somewhere else occurring even more expense.

okay for a brief stay
the room was clean and a good complimentry hospitality tray but it did feel very cramped but as you are not in your room for more than to sleep or wash and change i guess it met our needs. It is in a very good location with good wi fi and tv if you wish to use it. . so as long as you jus ned a good base to stay I would recomend this accomodation . It does have en suite also .
