Beautiful stay, wonderful relaxing spa.

Very attentive staff, wonderful food - by far the best pizza and tiramisu we’ve ever had and we’ve been some beautiful places so we were genuinely in heaven with how fantastic the food was from the pizzeria. Breakfast at the main house was also lovely. If you’re thinking about booking, absolutely do! It’s a gorgeous setting and place to stay with great food and relaxing vibes.

A Lucky Internet Search Gave us a Perfect Few Days Away at Saltmoore

I chanced upon Saltmoore during an internet search for a weekend break, and I must say I am very glad I did! It is a superb resort hotel hidden away in the woods a couple of miles from Whitby on the Yorkshire coast. The place offers a lovely mix of room types, with traditional hotel rooms in the main building and some quite excellent cottages just across the courtyard nearby. There also are some lodges nearer to the driveway entrance and a so-called Beach House which is family-orientated. Talking of families, children and dogs are welcome; but the hotel also includes several (in my view, sophisticated) adults-only areas. There is a nice spa and a good selection of restaurants. There also is a gym which looked to be well-equipped for free weights users, plus a couple of swimming pools (one in the spa and one - intended for children - in the Beach House). The gardens are attractive and well looked-after. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and on a couple of occasions (once when my wife took a tumble on some steps) really went the extra mile to help us. The location is discreet. You do not get sea views from most of Saltmoore, and that is part of its attraction - you would not know the place was there unless you searched quite hard. There is plenty of parking and there is a bus stop outside - the X4 bus goes to Sandsend to the North and Whitby to the South along the coast. You also can walk safely to these places. The walking time to Whitby is 45 - 55 minutes and the bus journey about 10 minutes. All in all we had a truly great time at Saltmoore, and we intend to return!

Amazing in every way!

What a wonderful place! From arrival, the extremely helpful friendly staff who gave us a warm welcome. Our room was perfect; spacious and spotlessly clean. Restaurant both nights was really good; fabulous food and immaculate service. Breakfast was also wonderful with a cold buffet and a cooked menu served to your table. Would honestly not hesitate to return. We brought our dog along and he was welcome in most areas of the hotel and grounds. A wonderful place - well done!

GREAT LOCATION FOR TOURING NYM

lovely hotel and staff. great facilities and outdoor areas. be organised and book restaurant and beach house pizza in advance. .only negative air con too cool at night in lounge bar and beach house
