Super location
The Augusta Hostel is in Thonglor area. There are so many nice restaurants open till midnight!! The room is , clean and quite. digital door access. The host speaks english well. Walk from BTS just 700m.

UNPROFESSIONAL YOUNG STAFFS WHO DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO WORK AND COMMUNICATE.
- It said on booking's that guests can do cooking at the shared kitchen - NO YOU DON'T. NO MICROWAVE.
- Cleaning ladies usually come every 1-2 weeks so they won’t clean your bathroom if you stay for a week, they also staying only for 3 hours to clean the whole building.
- If you’re long-stay guest, they would change your bed sheet every two weeks only(sometimes three weeks)
- They won’t change the bed sheets right away when someone checks out, normally a week later. UNHYGIENIC.
Since the end of October I have booked this place month by month. I chose this place BECAUSE it said on Booking.com that I can cook at the shared kitchen and there’s a picture of kitchen on their Facebook’s post with a caption ‘Make your stay feel more like home’.
An old guy nicely informed me when I checked in that I could use a kitchen but couldn’t cook any frying dishes - thus I’m okay with it as long as I’m able to use a kitchen as it is advertised.
However, on the 2nd week of December, they suddenly put several sign ‘NO COOKING’
- I was confused as no one informed me in advance. If I knew I wouldn’t extend my stay for a month AT ALL.
- I asked a young staff member who's wearing glasses and was informed that it wasn’t a temporary rule, no one won't be allowed to cook anymore.
- I told them I’m going to move out if this rule is seriously confirmed. Could they please ask the owner if it’s being confirmed - no one get back to me the next day.
- There was a microwave and a hot/cold drinking water machine if I needed to heat my food. UNTIL THEY TOOK THE MICROWAVE AWAY, told me it’s broken - OKAY I MEANT WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?? I do understand things can be broken and need maintenance.
- the last straw was a day after they took a microwave away and I wanted to make an instant noodle so I used a tiny electric cooking pot (an old guy told me I could use it since there’s no microwave at the moment)
- I was in the kitchen and heard a staff who’s wearing a glass said ‘ I thought I told that cooking ain’t allowed’ while he’s walking back to the dining room from a toilet (that passed a kitchen)
- I heard this clearly so I followed him and asked ‘I only wanna make instant noodles and an old guy told me I could use this electric pot, can’t I?’
- His response was only “No cooking, listen to me, listen on what I said, No cooking”
- So I asked him if there’s any rules being applied in the future. STAFFS should inform guests in advance. I booked this place because there’s a kitchen and now you said I can’t use it.
- Then he said ‘THEN GO FIND A KITCHEN SOMEWHERE ELSE ’
- They can’t even speak to me directly, I was the one who’s approached them for a reason twice and literally they couldn’t give me an answer or anything that would make sense. Please grow your ass up if you can't face a situation directly.
- Those young staff weren’t friendly and professional at all. If you don’t get paid enough to do this job in the hospitality industry - please do something else that suits you. It wasn’t that hard to do this job, what kind of person you are that can’t even communicate properly with guests.
To be clear, I wasn’t the only one who’s cooking here. People who've stayed here for a long-term before are also allowed to cook. Those young staff can’t even communicate well enough to give me a reason WHY DOES IT SUDDENLY HAPPENED.

There was no one at the reception during our short trip. Not in the morning, afternoon or evening. They just left our key access in some box. Moreover, they changed our room due to water leak issues without informing us in advance via email. It was only made known to us when a lady (friend of owner May) used her phone to call the owner when we arrived at the hostel. Also the room offered as replacement was at the top floor and worse, a bunk bed room with 6 beds. There was a garden right outside which can look in to the room as the glass is not covered. No privacy. Thus, a bad replacement.

Fabulous, will be back next year
Spent a split stay in Bangkok here in Augusta. May is a wonderful friendly host in reception with outstanding English and eve. more impressive handwriting! We booked the triple private room with ensuite. Great so,ed room, comfortable and clean. Loads of wardrobe space. Washing machine and tumble dryer on site for 40 bht, kitchen facilities shared. 10 mins walk to BTS, 1 -2 minutes to three(!) 7-elevens!
We plan to return to Thailand in 2019 and will definitely stAy at Augusta whilst in Bangkok

This 'poshtel' is an amazing find and is highly recommended. We arrived late evening but the receptionist stayed late to greet us with a warm smile and excellent English.
The downstairs communal areas are well furnished and cosy , there is a washing m home and tumble dryer available to use (coin operated) as well as a large fridge freezer if needed. An electric ring, microwave a disaster for food prep too.
The location is excellent a 5 min walk to the nearest Bts station (Thong Lo) and across the road a 7-eleven and a few minutes to the larger Top supermarket, so if you are on a budget you have self catering down up here!
Augusta has shared dormitory style to me but we booked the 2nd floor family style room, which has a large king sized bed, a queen size lower as single upper bunk bed. The room has oodles of storage available and a large bathroom,overhead shower in bath.
some simple low level seating for three is welcome.
The bathroom looks a little worn in places but was adequately clean (few long head hairs about) The bedroom has a ceiling can and air con.
Thai people like their beds hard, but we were more than comfortable here and will be back at the end of July for another couple of nights before flying home. No regrets about our choice.
You will not find a nicer, friendlier host nor accommodation with such value in Bangkok. Augusta is hidden down a small road as so is not bothered by any road or general city noise.
If we return to Bangkok this will be out 1st choice.
