Excellent hotel

Good hotel. Relatively close to the A6 motorway, ideal. Ample parking (including charging points for electric vehicles ). Nice reception at reception. Spacious, complete and clean room. Excellent wifi reception. Good restaurant with great menu and great food. Service is excellent. The breakfast room (separate room) is spacious enough and excellent offer. Overall an excellent hotel

We planned to stay one night, but stayed two, because we loved it.

My travel companion and I loved this hotel. We chose it because it had much more to offer at a better cost than anything comparable in Nuremberg. We liked our room and all the amenities, but the restaurant was truly excellent. The service was also more than expected. We will come again.

Diamond found in the village

Our stay at Hotel Sonne was very nice. We were attending a wedding across the street at the St. Nickolais Kirche. This hotel went out of their way to provide a wonderful 4 days for all the wedding party. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, very tasty and great selection of food. It was included in the price of the room which is different for us Americans. The hotel room area spacious, clean, bathrooms are tiled and very clean, & beds are pretty firm but we managed to sleep fine. The bed was two twins used together but it was fine. Plenty of plugs but need an adapter if you are not European. One thing to know about this hotel, you must leave your room key in the slot next to the front door if you want electricity. It is the norm in Europe apparently to help with energy costs and waste. Also, there is NO air conditioning and the windows don't open very far to let fresh air in. If you travel in the warmer seasons you will need to keep your windows open at night to be cool. I was able to get the one fan in the hotel which helped tremendously circulate the air. This hotel has a bar where the people from the wedding gathered at night and socialized. They also have a restaurant that serves the most delicious dinners. I highly recommend the Pork Tenderloin dinner, it was SO outstanding. The chef or cook is really good. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating, we just can't say enough good things about them. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. They also have a safety code at night for safety which I thought was great even though the town is very safe.

A stop on our Europe tour

We arrived after a 600mile drive from London to find it was the towns annual beer festival which the hotel plays a big part. Nothing else to do but get stuck in and enjoy the beer and music in what would otherwise be a sleepy town. Clinically clean and very modern. Breakfast was a buffet and very good.
