Nice, friendly hotel close to the city

The hotel is close to the city center, opposite the old town. Unfortunately, there are no free parking spaces, only for checking in directly in front of the building. Check-in was quick and a few friendly words were exchanged immediately. Unfortunately, my room at the back was broken, so I was given one facing the main road. Although I am a very light sleeper, I could hardly hear any of the traffic through the soundproof windows. The window can or must also remain closed, as the rooms are well supplied with tempered fresh air through a modern ventilation system. The rooms are modern and new. The bed is comfortable. There are also "normal" coat hangers. Breakfast must be paid for separately and is reasonable for the price. There is also a fresh omelette or fried egg. The staff, including the owners, are extremely friendly.

Actually "very good", but an important agreed service was not fulfilled.

In our opinion, the "Sebcity" hotel actually offers very good value for money: Our room was contemporary and well-furnished and clean. The room climate and the mattresses offered a good quality of sleep. The soundproofing was acceptable. The breakfast was at least 4-star quality and offered tasty ingredients.
Actually...
But unfortunately we have to deduct 1 star:
The hotel's website states that breakfast can be taken on weekends outside of the usual times of 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. by arrangement. Accordingly, the hotel told us by email before booking that we could have breakfast at 7 a.m. We should point out this agreement upon arrival. The possibility of having breakfast earlier was a key reason for our booking at this hotel.
However, we were informed upon arrival that breakfast was not possible before 8 a.m., on the grounds that preparing it at that time would be too time-consuming.
At first, the hotel was not prepared to make concessions, even after we presented the email in which it had promised breakfast for 7 a.m. Only after negotiations did the hotel agree to our suggestion of preparing breakfast for at least 7.30 a.m. as a compromise.
A few hours later, we received an apology for not carrying out the agreed service in the form of an alcoholic cold drink. This attempt at an apology resulted in a deduction of not two stars, but only one star. We would have preferred if the hotel had simply carried out the agreed service, as it was an essential part of the contract.
And by the way: a "Welcome to our hotel!" or something similarly friendly at reception should be possible...

Very clean hotel, friendly staff

Room was extremely clean, cosy, very comfy bed, pillow and mattress.
Nice and friendly staff. A quick check in and check out. Fresh coffee and fresh breakfast, I recommend, even for more than one night, perfect location in the town centre.

Piccolo albergo, ma accogliente.

Ci siamo fermati una notte sola, ma è stato sufficiente per dare un ottimo giudizio sulla struttura. La proprietaria è stata molto gentile, la camera era pulitissima, il posto silenzioso. La colazione del mattina molto buona. Senz'altro se si è di passaggio merita una sosta.

Klein aber zum Wohlfühlen

Das Sebcity-Hotel ist ein kleines Hotel in der Altstadt von Ellwangen, 3 Minuten zu Fuß ist man im Kern. Das Hotel ist modern, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und alles sehr sauber. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straße mit Blick auf die Basilika, aber man hört durch die lärmgeschützten Fenster so gut wie nichts. Das Bad ist praktisch eingerichtet, mit großer Ablage. Frühstück ist reichhaltig, Eierspeisen werden frisch zubereitet. Chefin und Personal sind sehr freundlich. Beim nächsten Besuch in Ellwangen werden wir sicher dort wieder einkehren.
