Great hotel
Located in the heart of the Mamaia resort, Hotel Ges welcomes you with a modern, warm, and friendly design, a clean and well-maintained environment, all of which contribute significantly to a pleasant stay. We always return with pleasure, as the hosts go out of their way to meet the guests’ needs and ensure their comfort.
The rooms and bathrooms are extremely spacious—you feel like you can breathe, nothing feels cramped or overwhelming. The furniture is of good quality, modern, comfortable (with very large beds and sofa beds), and visually appealing. To create a homely atmosphere, the room includes many decorative plants and books.
This time, we booked a Junior Suite (living room with a sofa bed, bedroom with a double bed, AC, 2 LCD TVs, safe, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, with a usable area of 42 sqm), located on the first floor, with a partial sea view.
In the immediate vicinity, there are shops, restaurants, mini-markets, and bakeries. The Casino Square is just a few steps away. The hotel has its own parking (free of charge) and a private beach. If you choose the half-board option (HB), sunbeds are included. For bed and breakfast (BB), the cost is 30 lei per sunbed (early July rate).
Breakfast is very generous and varied, with high-quality products and visually pleasing plating. Items are constantly replenished as they run out. The coffee and juices are of good quality. On the top floor (5th), there is a terrace where lunch and dinner can be served. Since it was very hot outside, we didn’t eat on the terrace, but we reviewed the menu and saw that it was varied and reasonably priced.
We will gladly return to this hotel if we choose to vacation in Mamaia again.

First line, but in front of the balcony there is a cable car
The hotel is located on the first line. The room had a good view of the sea. The room was generally good, the bed linen was a little tired, there was no refrigerator in the room. There was parking. Another minus was that there was no drinking water.
On the plus side, you can bring your dog at no extra charge.

Out of season stay and restaurant review
We stayed here for 4 nights, out of season.
The area was so quiet. Nothing to do as everywhere is closed. The room was nice, with a balcony overlooking the sea side. But a very small balcony!
The breakfast was ok. Standard pastry option, cold fridge for salads and fish. They had 2 out of three bay maries with hot food but this was Luke warm. They had eggs which were ok but very odd selection otherwise including frozen mixed vegetables. Really grizzly Romanian sausage, chewy cheese parcles and very sour tropical fruit juice to go with it. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but maybe because we were out of season and they were winding down. We ate here twice in the evenings. First night was lovely, a really delicious duck in meal and pasta dish. Couldn't fault it. The cheesecake was lovely, still a bit frozen and came with berries but they were a bit mouldy. The second meal was a disappointment, I had a chicken dish with very odd sauce. Struggled to finish the dish. But service was nice enough. Would have been nice to be checked on or asked if we wanted another drink or bill. Every time we wanted service we had to go find the staff. So very mixed feelings regarding this residence!

Great little hotel by the beach
This is a very nice family run small hotel. Two people came out to the parking lot to help us with our bags. The rooms were nicely set up and very clean. Ocean view from the balcony. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was great and breakfast buffet the next morning was also very good. I would definitely go back.

Week-end getaway
I liked the sea view from the room, and the room amenities.
Room seem a lot larger than average, so that was definitely a plus.
The breakfast spread in the morning was good too.
Overall staff was nice and helpful.
Better to visit during season.
