First the good bits - breakfast was included and was adequate as I don't have a big appetite - no fruit on offer apart from apples and kiwis. The staff were excellent and helped me check in for my flight which was difficult as the wifi kept going off in between times. The bed was confortable although I wasn't a fan of square pillows.
The not so good bits. My bathroom was quite dated and I had to ask reception to come up to explain how to get the shower working. I also had to ask for a mat for inside the bath as it was shiny. The hot water took ages to come through in the basin as well. My room was at the front just above the entrance so there was some traffic noise and also noise from a next door room which I always hate. As I mentioned the wifi seemed to go in and out and I had to keep checking in.

The staff at the Carlton was superb! They were helpful in every way from recommending restaurants to helping set up our Wi-Fi. The location is great! The breakfast was ample. Air conditioning was fantastic! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Main bedroom was clean but bathroom was a bit grubby.
Location was fantastic, close to shops, only 10 min walks in different directions to both promenade and train station.
Staff were very pleasant although when we arrived they asked us to pay the local tax, which we had already done prior to arrival but they didn't have a note of it so had to search through my emails to find the receipt they sent me.
We had booked this through a 3rd party and paid the cost prior to the trip however they also tried to charge us for the room on arrival. We explained we had paid this and it seemed to be sorted but they then took a payment out my account, then refunded it, then took another payment out and refunded it, however the money took over a week to clear back into my bank, by which time we were home. Luckily we were able to source money from elsewhere to spend.

Great location between central station, trams and beach. Close to tram to airport. Good beds, good medium price hotel. Balkony door was not possible to lock, but there was blinds to cover door and windows. Friendly staf.

Awful Noisy Hotel
This would rate as one of the worst hotel experiences I have probably ever had. The hotel is noisy in the extreme. You can hear every word of the conversations in the adjoining rooms (every word as if the person is in your room!) and the traffic and building noise from outside was unbearable. The bed was so small that it didn’t reach the built-in side table by 30 cm on each side. My daughter and I had to go to the nearest pharmacy to buy high grade earplugs. I came away feeling exhausted. On the day of checkout we were called at 11:08 to vacate the room. There was only one cleaner; being hassled was not necessary. We were down and out of The Hotel by 11h15. One redeeming feature; the breakfast service was lovely.

Nous comprenons parfaitement votre ressenti concernant le bruit. Notre établissement Hôtel Carlton Nice est situé en centre-ville, ce qui peut effectivement entraîner des nuisances sonores extérieures malgré les dispositifs d’isolation en place. Nous sommes également désolés que les bruits provenant des chambres voisines aient perturbé votre repos, ce point est pris très au sérieux par notre équipe.
Concernant la chambre et le lit, nous regrettons sincèrement que l’aménagement ne vous ait pas apporté le confort attendu pour un séjour en famille. Vos remarques sont précieuses et seront partagées avec notre direction afin d’évaluer les améliorations possibles.
Pour l’appel effectué le jour du départ, nous comprenons que cela ait pu être ressenti comme une pression. Nos équipes de housekeeping suivent des horaires stricts afin de préparer les chambres pour les arrivées suivantes, mais nous allons leur rappeler l’importance d’une approche plus mesurée et attentionnée.
Nous sommes toutefois ravis que vous ayez apprécié le service du petit-déjeuner, et nous ne manquerons pas de transmettre votre retour positif à notre équipe de salle, qui y sera très sensible.
Nous espérons malgré tout avoir l’occasion de vous accueillir de nouveau afin de vous offrir une expérience plus calme et plus conforme à vos attentes.
