A Week with our Science Hero, Nicolaus Copernicus
The hostel is conveniently located at the center of the Old Town just in front of the plaza and the Church of the Holy Spirit. It is some minutes walk to the venue, Nicolaus Copernicus University, where the conference I attended was held,
There were choices of rooms for budget travelers, I choose a room for 8 since I will not stay inside the room the whole day, Although it was furnished with amenities for dining, the conference organizer provided us with all the things that we need except the place on where to sleep.
The hostel is a good choice for short 3-day to 1-week stay, It is located near most of the attractions in Torun,Poland, There are numerous choices of restaurants that offers local cuisine, as well as, fast food chains like McDonald's and KFC , Some minutes away is the House of Kopernik, the scientist's ancestral family house, There is also the leaning tower on Torun, which is part of the fortification during the medieval period.
Just outside the hostel is the famous "Pierniki House", which according to story, produces the traditional ginger bread that Frederic Chopin loves to eat. Copernicus' statue is located just in front of City Hall surrounded by traditional structures influenced by Prussian and Teutonian cultures.
The main train station is also conveniently located at the other side of Vistula river and served by connecting tram system to and from the the Old Town,

Very poor experience
I stayed in this hostel in October 2015. I am a solo female backpacker. While I appreciate that this is low season I found the atmosphere here really creepy. Firstly there is no reception so when you arrive you have to call a number. You are then met by a woman who will let you in. I was the only one in the hostel and placed in a room without a view of the main square which I thought was rude. The floors are creaky and it is a big scary old house which is not very nice when you are on your own. Also the bathrooms are dirty and dusty - obvious they had not been cleaned for ages. I had a bad experience when I could not get through one of the doors entering the accommodation because of a faulty door. This left me really stressed and I had to call out the owner late at night who was not particularly pleased about it. The only reason why I give this place a poor rating and not a terrible is because the location is perfect - on the main market square- and that there is free wifi in the building. You can very easily go from here to all the main attractions. But otherwise it is a very poor experience. Unfortunately there are not many hostels in Torun as it is a very small place. Do not go to the Angel Hostel if you a solo traveller particularly female!! Pay a bit more money for a cheap hotel or go to another hostel.

A true bargain.
I just happened to be in Torun by pure accident, and then I just happened to stumble into Angel Hostel. It was a great find. Very, very cheap, clean, cosy, and at a perfect location, in the main square of the city. The restaurante on the ground floor - that works separately from the hostel - is very cheap and has very good food.

Great Location
Located right across the Town Square, on the 3rd floor of a building, its a very clean and comfortable hostel. The rooms are large and spacious, with comfortable beds. The bathrooms and toilets are also clean and spacious. The only negative is the lack of staff at the hostel and you'll need to call the owner if you need anything.

Good but its up to you
Yes it is well situated, right on the square , Yes it is very clean, yes all is organize and well think: lights, coffee pot and cups, showers...et
But there is a but: the size of the room is like a closet 2 X 2 meters with a single bed, a chair and a small table; for your partner a mezanine the size of a single bed cut over the hall way. To dress, it is one person in a time, you always feel to be in the shoes of the other. All is so compact that the other residents can easily keep you awake...late
They says garden view, well you have to bent over the open window to see it 3 levels down, otherwise your view is a brick wall.
We paid 100zl, and for 90zl in Gdansk, more tourists we paid 90zl including breakfast, internet, free shuttle, discount for long stay and kitchen to cook.
There is one room dorm with 6 beds...and there is more space between the beds and around than the private share bathroom..so if you choose that place..take a dorm
