Lovely stay
It was a lovely stay. The common area is very beautiful and calm and the people working there were super helpful and lovely. There’s a kitchen with everything you neee, including coffee machine.
We stayed in a double bed private room, which was small but really practical.

Worst hotel experience
I stayed there last month, I was caught by surprise of how rude the reception is and unhelpful. The rooms are not clean, sheets smells, and are humid. No AC in some rooms.
Also the noise is ridiculous. Loud music until midnight and sometimes after midnight, outside customers yelling when drunk…
They have a rat problem in the kitchen and lot of cockroaches in the rooms. Not healthy… specially for a business that sells food…

Ok............if you’re a backpacker
We stayed here for 3 nights on the final part of our trip to Panama. To be fair we didn’t do any research, just on recommendation from a previous place we stayed. We had a quick look at the website where it is described as a two story colonial house which has been kept in its original state for guests to enjoy. This is true to a certain extent but there has clearly been no effort to restore or maintain that ‘original state’ as the building and rooms (certainly the one we were in) looked quite tired and unloved.
The breakfast was an average affair. Coffee, a few types of tea, bread jam etc. There was fruit and scrambled egg but you really had to get up early for this because when it ran out it was not replenished.
The staff are lovely, the housekeeper in particular, who we felt had a major job on her hand to clean the rooms and bathrooms which were often unacceptably left by fellow guests.
The owner, we believe, was on the premises at some point during our visit as we think we saw her making deliveries with other staff. There was no attempt to engage with any of the guests by her so we can’t be absolutely sure it was her.
All in all it was quite a disappointing stay. Perhaps we were just fussy and expected more. As I say if you’re backpacking and on a real budget this might be absolutely fine for you as certainly the price you pay is very reasonable. However, when you’re travelling half way around the world to visit places, the cheaper option is not always the number one priority. With a little bit more love, effort and attention to detail this could be a lovely place to stay.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in an hostel
Never had such a bad experience in an hostel before. Someone in the room told the reception that some of her money got lost or stolen. I came later to extend one more night and I’ve been told that everyone in the room has to check out. (Apparently everyone was supposed to leave anyway but me)
They even didn’t let me to book a private room. I felt in their altitude that they actually blaming me for that. Had to spend my last day in Panama finding another hostel.

Super clean, cute, safe and great place to stay!
Oh my gosh - my husband and I stayed for two nights at Posado 1914. I would call it an absolutely charming boutique hostal. It's one of the best value accommodations in the city. Upon first impression one can tell it was definitely well looked after and very clean. All the traveler basics were covered: nice hot shower, clean bathrooms, wifi worked great and there is a nice big kitchen to use. It is very secure and the reception is open 24 hrs which is very convenient if you have a late flight. This is a professionally run family business and it was a delight to stay there.
