Clean, comfy and good view.
Cabin was spacious and had a nice deck to sit out on. Everything was clean and plenty of facilities in kitchen, etc. Checked in at the nearby hotel which was a bit confusing but no problem. Good place to finish the day after a trip to the Glacier up the valley at Nigardsbreen.

No respect for its clients, horrible service!!!!
After a week of travelling through Norway and meeting the extremely nice people all over the country we run away from this campsite shocked and totally disapointed by the hate in those peoples towards their clients. We arrived at 19 pm, we paid the full tarif for the campervans, we saw the kitchen and all the facilities opened so we were about to spend a nice evening. After the shower (that you need to pay separately directly in the bathroom) we realized that the receptionist came in the meantime to close the kitchen and the water, and he left when nobody could see or stop him. We were extremely tired, hungry and cold after the whole day of hiking and the owner secretely closed all the needed facilities as soon as we paid! We called the reception which informed us that they cannot open the kitchen just for us as it’s not profitable enough. We understand that after the high season the camping does not earn that much money but the way they threated us was perfiduous, shocking and unhuman! We changed for the Jostedal camping where the receptionist was more then happy to welcome us!

Disgusting
Trip advisor won't let put 0 stars, that's why there is one. We made a trip through Norway through a travel agency that had us visit several cabins across Norway. All were fine, but this one is extremely bad.
I understand it's at a camp site and not a vacation park and that means something in how much luxury you may expect, however, this isn't about luxury. Simplicity is fine. Being extremely dirty however is not. The worst of it was the shape of the beds. There were blankets provided that were completely worn, stained and some of them even had black mold stains. The mattress was covered with a topper that looked like it hadn't been changed in years, so much dust was gathered underneath. The beds were so bad that we considered just leaving and booking somewhere else. It was high season though and the cheapest I could find online was 2000 euro for the three nights for our family and that's a bit extreme. So instead we drove to the closest larger town, picked up airbeds and sleeping bags and spend our nights here camping on the floor. After we gave the house a very thorough scrubbing - not how I like to spend my vacation time.
You should have complained about the beds to management and let them fix it, I hear you say. Yes, I probably should have. But I don't think any good could have come from it. Seeing how the bathroom smelled like sewer the whole time we stayed there, the oven didn't work, half of the lights didn't work, the window blinds were broken, the dishes of the previous guest were still there (I did pay 300 NK for a final cleaning, but I don't think anybody actually comes there to clean), there weren't enough chairs to seat our family, there wasn't enough dishware, and the list goes on. Who on earth thinks this is acceptable to rent out? I don't think the three days we were staying there would have been enough to fix all that was broken/dirty. Or that another accommodation from this park would somehow magically be ok.
To end on a more positive note, Norway in general is ofcourse beautiful and the area around Gaupne must be one of the more beautiful parts. Absolutely stunning views everywhere and so much opportunities for beautiful hikes, near the fjords, near the glaciers, in the mountains, absolute perfection everywhere. On a rainy day the local pool is perfect, there's a hot/cold pool outside that offers views on the glacier even. Other then that, don't expect too much entertainment wise in the little town, but that's hopefully not why you wanted to visit Norway in the first place. To sum it up, lets attribute that mandatory 1 star to the location, surroundings and views! If you want to visit here, you're probably better off on the campsite with your own -clean- camp gear then in one of the cabins.

Campsite (+ farm)
Stayed here as a stopover for visiting the Nigardsbreen Glacier.
The cabins are very old, but can't complain at the price for Norway. Generally clean and liveable, just remember this is a campsite and not a hotel!
Toilets/showers are shared (for smaller cabins). They seem fairly new and modern.
No bedding or towels are provided, however we brought our own. Would not recommend using the ones they provide as they look extremely worn and dirty.
Only criticism is that the smaller cabins are surrounded by a herd of sheep. I get the impression these are kept here to add to natural/outdoor image of the campsite since there's plenty of land elsewhere to keep sheep in Norway. Unfortunately the sheep have bells attached around their necks which ring continuously! So much so, it became really disturbing to our stay. The sheep were bleating loudly, usually past midnight, and the bells started ringing at 5am!
The campsite is attached to a guesthouse about 200m up the road. We had one of our best meals in Norway here (Reindeer burger), reasonably priced, average meal price about 200 NOK.
Overall, would recommend Sandvik as a quick stopover for Nigardsbreen, but not much longer.

Fin campingplass
Budde her ei helg. Trivelig personal, flotte omgivelser, fint område. Fekk sette vogna fint til så vi fekk litt «privatliv».
Einaste minuset ; sanitæranlegget var flott, nokså nyoppusset men, det var ganske så skittent dessverre.....
