Good spot close to lake

This was very close to head lake and that was super wonderful staff were nice, beds were clean and rooms were well kept. The motel is under new management so it is nicer from when we stayed before. It was really nice that the lake was so close gorgeous sunsets.

My mother and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The room was clean, parking was good. Did not see staff after checking in. Room was air conditioned and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The motel is simple but has everything you need for a comfortable night and is centrally located. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. Great selection of channels on the TV if you need that.

An expensive, less than quaint, old, run down motel on Haliburton main strip. We would not return.

Our stay was on Sunday March 8, 2026. We were greeted by friendly staff that took our information, and money, and then provided us a single room key. First impressions of the room offered, from the exterior, were not great with the garbage dumpster and piles of beer cans next to our door. Upon entry to the room we noted that it was very clean and well made up. There were several signs with requests which we diligently read and laughed at some of the suggestions. The motel is a non-smoking site and signage clearly shows that. We noted right away that the floor was exceptionally cold and that the heat was turned off on the in room HVAC unit--bring slippers--we turned the noisy old machine on and it warmed the air quickly but never the floor! The cycling of the HVAC repeatedly woke us all night. There is an available 50" TV which was reasonably new and worked well on ROKU. Now I have to say it: the beds/mattresses are ATROCIOUS!! And I'm not sure that word is BIG ENOUGH!! The mattresses have absolutely no edge support and when laying down your body falls into the center of the bed abyss leaving you to sleep in the shape of a banana--I am two days off work so far due to the mattress I slept on tweaking a chronic back injury. The room came equipped with a small desk, mostly occupied by a large microwave and an ancient KEURIG style coffee maker--expect up to 4 minutes to brew your coffee. There was a love seat that we suspect pulled out to a mini bed but we never investigated further. The one large window (to view the garbage strewn parking lot) was extremely dirty as if never ever cleaned, had reasonably good black-out curtains installed. The bathroom was actually fairly spacious with basics only--small between walls vanity, regular small toilet and stand up shower for one person only. Some small soaps were offered for use. Worst for the bathroom was extremely poor lighting and very noisy exhaust fan though it was usable. Lets tick all the boxes: value for the money? Not a hope. Cost of rental per evening? Brutal! Over $150 before tax for one night in a run down antique motel in the winter time seems outrageous. The location over-looking Head Lake in Haliburton was pretty nice but the main highway runs in front and the traffic seemed fairly regular and the sound-proofing of the motel walls did not cut it much. Atmosphere??WHAT?? You are kidding right? We chose to clear out before check out time so as not to incur the extra $20/hour late checkout. I dropped the key in the mailbox and ran, did not want to meet the help as I may have downloaded our disappointment in a vulgar way. Renovations required for this property well exceed the value of it--give it up!!

Clean room. New, comfortable clean beds and linens. We were not there to hang out in the room, so it was perfect for our needs. Kind and accommodating staff.
