A tired but charming hotel on the edge of beautiful Banff.
We stayed two nights here on the outer edge of Banff (it's not huge) as park of a coach tour. Although dated, the room was clean and the bed cosy with everything we needed. Our room was ground floor, facing a car park so not glamorous, but still quiet and spacious. An in-room safe would have been helpful. I suspect modernising it , although parts of it were in dire need, would take away the charm. We even made use of the biglovely hot tub and the attached restaurant, which was good. Everyone was helpful and friendly and there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The bus stop to get into the centre is right outside and they are very frequent. All around you outside the mountains soar up. Banff is gorgeous.

Being in the Rockies we were expecting some level of view of the mountains however our room was on the first floor and the only view we had was of a back street. Considering the hotel was half empty i expected a lot more. We will not return there

For the outrageous price of over $750 per night, ridicolously noisy and not properly working air-condition, very noisy outdoor area, including a idling tourbus at 6:45am for more than half an hour. Hotel experienced a firealarm as well and NOBODY was leaving hotel - as per law obligated - staff told guests "its just a failing detector" - absolutly ridicolous and illegal - no door to sink, bathroom section, door to bathtub and toilet did not close properly, all walls had scuff marks, carpet in extra bedroom was ripped open

Dissapointed with hotel for price paid, as we read reviews and seemed good if a little bit dated, However it needs major refurb specially carpets well worn in halls and rooms, have seen their day. Decor in rooms very very old, air con like an engine good job we didnt need it much. Entrance from car park would nearly make you turn away straight away, on plus side beds comfortable but pillow hard and bathroom facilities were good. We stayed in superior room with jacuzzi very weird room wouldnt recommend it at all. Resturant el toro was very good for breakfast.

Hotel staff were helpful. Room was clean and comfortable but a little dated. It was conveniently located for our stay.
