"Many snows"

My wife and I stayed here the nights of April 15-16, 2014. Had it not been for our GPS, we might still be looking for this place. Even the GPS had a couple of mistakes that misled us. The alpine-style house is located well up the mountainside above the spectacular glacial lake Millstatter See. We looked forward to great views from the lodging, but alas there were no lake views from the BB.
The lovely old house is expertly renovated and could pass as a new house. It has two levels, the ground floor for the family and upstairs for guests. The room had a nice balcony overlooking other houses in the vicinity. The bedroom is spacious, flat-screen TV, new furniture and decorations, and a very adequate bathroom. It was comfortable and above all quiet.
Breakfast was of course continental with a custom-cooked egg, but perfectly adequate.
The lady who manages the BB was charming and jovial, although she spoke precious little English. Since we were on our way into the Alps, I tried to find out what to expect driving there. The most we could get was "many snows." We got the message, bless her heart. There were to come "many snows" as it turned out. Wish we were equipped to speak in her language.
We enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to stay again, although I would have loved a good view of the lake.
