Service with a smile ..

Had dinner at the restaurant on two occasions during our stay at Heritage hotel Hallstatt. The service and the food was excellent. Even though the restaurant was full the waiter and the manager had time to check on us . Very good staff

Avoid This Restaurant – Extremely Disappointing Experience

Before being seated, we clearly informed the staff that if a table by the seaside became available, we would like to move there. Despite this, Restaurant Manager Robert refused our request simply because we had already placed our order.
His attitude was extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. He told us in a harsh tone that we either had to pay for the food or leave the restaurant immediately. We felt unwelcome and were treated with complete disrespect.
As a result, we had to pay €34.70 for a meal that we never even ate.
This experience completely ruined our visit. We cannot recommend this restaurant and strongly advise others to consider alternative places where guests are treated with respect.

Nice terrace but unfriendly staff

Beautiful terrace on the lake, but... there no tables for breakfast for the hotel guests and... much worse: very unfriendly, poor German-Austrian speaking waiting staff. It was only after a long wait that I insisted on a table that had long since become available. Drink in bottle without glass. Menu is okay, but the value for money is just like the staff; substandard. There is a little too much leaning on the beautiful location on the lake in the middle of Hallstatt.

Rooms with a balcony overlooking the lake are recommended

The view from the balcony of my room was lovely. With so many tourists from all over the world flocking to the small city, you can relax in the evening or morning while there are only a few places to calm down and see the lake. Watching the morning sunrise of Lake Hallstatt on the veranda with a cup of coffee made with the coffee maker in your room, you can forget about your work fatigue.

Bad cuisine

We were in the summer only for food in the hotel, as the beautiful terrace has lured us. I had a shrimp cocktail that had everything in it except no shrimp. It is such an insult to Austrian cuisine to offer such food to customers. The service was also poor.
