Friendly and welcoming staff, a really good breakfast, a fantastic restaurant at the hotel; however, the rooms were a bit ‘old’ and there was some food waste on the hotel grounds that was left lying around for several days. You can borrow bikes to ride to the beach, which was absolutely perfect for us Scandinavian guests. A lovely hotel.

Embarrassing rooms: old and lacking basic maintenance.

Since May, I have stayed in this hotel for one night each month. In May, the room was acceptable, in June it was borderline, and yesterday it was scandalous. The shower was not working (it was a sprayer in a non-functional tub), the bidet had a broken faucet, and the toilet had no water even to flush the toilet paper (room 202). This morning I paid the usual price for a 4-star hotel that is not even worth two.

Great service and location for those preferring to be a little away from the centre

Firstly, let me thank Caesar's Hotel in Cagliari for contributing hugely to a memorable stay in the lovely city of Cagliari, and the fantastic island of Sardinia.
Positives:
1) The staff were so helpful and went to great lengths to help me. Thank you to all reception staff and the caretaker for solving my plug issue.
2) Breakfast is lovely. There is enough cooked selections, but also cerals, pastries, fruits, yoghurts etc. More than enough choice.
3) The location, whilst not central, is ideal for someone like me who is able and willing to walk. It is in a nice quiet suburb. About a 30 minute walk to the centre, and 35 minutes walk to the Poetta beach. There are regular buses if you prefer to not walk.
4) Plenty of places to eat within a 10 to 15 minute walk. The hotel restaurant menu looked good, but I preferred to venture out.
5) The hotel is as good as what you will find in Cagliari. It is not perfect in decor or modernisation, but judging by the hotels in the centre, I doubt you will find a more rounded accomodation setting.
6) The price was competitive for the room. It is quiet with mainly business travellers, so you will sleep well.
Any tips:
If you do not like walking or taking buses, then Caesar's Hotel will be too out the way for you.
It appeared the power is mainly a 3-pin, which could have caused a problem with my 2-pin Euro plugs. Like I said though, the hotel staff were very helpful in supplying me with the necessary power provisions.

To be modernized, nn a 4 star

The structure is very dated; the rooms have a poorly functioning 70s taps; the wallpaper detached in several places, the window closing with difficulty. The TV, unlike other reviews, worked as well as the air conditioner used in my case to heat the room (I stayed overnight in March). You can go up to the terrace to see the view and just go there to see what state the structure is in... Different speech for the staff, very kind and professional and breakfast service, absolutely level.
I don't think I would return, for the same rates there is better in town.

Absolutely to avoid – bad experience

Extremely old and neglected hotel, stopped probably decades ago. The room was dirty and poorly maintained, with obvious signs of poor cleaning and virtually non-existent maintenance.
The bathroom was something embarrassing: tiny and uncomfortable shower cubicle, dirty in the corners and with visible mold. But the worst thing was the strong smell of sewer that invaded the environment continuously. Really disgusting and impossible to relax or feel comfortable.
The sanitary ware was stained, the surfaces ruined and some metal elements completely oxidized. Everything conveyed a feeling of neglect and poor care.
The television was unusable due to total absence of signal. A basic service that didn't even work.
Overall a structure decidedly substandard, which does not justify the asking price. Very negative stay.
I would not recommend it to anyone and will definitely not return.
Really bad experience from every point of view.
