Lovely owner

Spent three nights between Christmas and New Year here. Munnar was almost full and we hadn't booked anything. It was pricey for the en suite but the owner let us switch rooms the following day to save us some money. It really was slim pickings in Munnar while we were there and we definately got luck here. The rooms were clean but cold, ask for extra blankets if needed. The owner gave us loads of advice of places to visit and free walks to go on. Would definately stay again.

Wonderful host

West End Cottages was the ideal place to stay for us during our visit to Munnar. The price was very good, clean, comfy and a perfect location. Satish, the host, is a complete gentleman. He was incredibly warm and welcoming. He had some fantastic recommendations for Munnar and around that definitely improved our itinerary. We whole heartedly recommend Satish and his place West End Cottages during your trip to Munnar.

cozy villas with beautiful landscape

The hotel has cottages as well as rooms .Twin cottages with two floors are available. You will be lucky if you get cottage on the ground floor. landscaping is beautiful , lots of variety of flowers are seen .
Hygiene is average.Rooms are airy only if windows kept open.

small sized road side room with unhygienic bathroom

I visited munnar with my frndz. we all were bachelors, and we knew that whole day we would be out for visiting different locations, so we opted for cheap stay. I saw photos of westend cottage and pics lookd good. westend cottage charged us 750/- per double bad room for a night. when we actually visited the westend cottage, then we found that room is on main road. a window of room opens directly to main road. all rooms are on ground floor only. the locks of room door are not good & their lock was in very bad condition. we found room very unsafe. just beside the room there is unused property which is now used as dump yard. beside that dump yard there is government alcohol shop. so at night you will hear lot of sound of drunk people, auto drivers and vehicles. room doesn't have any fan or AC, so there is nothing for ventilation. you need to open window for ventilation. out of two windows, one window is on road side so you can not open it. other window opens in walkway which is also not safe. room has one TV set with tata sky. it has few music & local channels. the blankets in room do not have cover so its very unhygienic, as all the travelers using same blanket. bathroom has hot water tap. but overall bathroom is very unhygienic. few rooms have very small bathroom. few rooms don't have wash basin in bath room as there is no space for it, so wash basin is installed in room itself. there were many insects in bathroom as it was not properly cleaned. so overall I will not recommend this stay to anyone, even for bachelors also. the only plus point of this stay is its location. Sarvana bhavan , bus stop and jeep/auto stop are very near. but there are many other home stays & hotels nearby so you can find other better option.

A decent stay

Nice small cosy place to stay with all basic amenities. Bus stand, and market area very close. Food at good restaurants like saravana bhavan is tasty. Tea, coffee and milk available in cottage. Shop for homemade chocolates and spices here
