Good Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana

This new hotel is a good edition of Marriott Bonvoy properties in Guyana. The staff was friendly and room was clean. Newer hotel with a big conference center.

Need to up their game.

The hotel looks great. The lobby and bar area are well appointed. Went there with some friends for drinks and light fare. Some people arrived 20 minutes before and their order still had not come over. I ordered a G&T. It should not take 15 minutes to get a drink from the bar that is literally right across from our seats in the bar area. There was only one other group of 2 persons present, along with our group of nine.
The salt fish cakes were bricks and had no taste. The chicken wings were tough and tasteless. I know that they have only been open for about 6 weeks , but they really have to up their game. The location is new and fresh in beige tones that are relaxing but I wouldn’t want to spend money there if the food and service does not improve. quickly.

Waiting 15 minutes for a simple drink, particularly with minimal occupancy, is not the level of service we strive to provide. We also regret that the saltfish cakes and chicken wings fell short in both quality and flavor. Breakfast was ok, could have some more varieties in food, juices/hot brewages as there was only 2 types of teas and coffee. Not black tea just 2 herbal teas. Pool is excellent! Changing areas not in service as the hotel is fairly new so many things are still not up and running yet. Staff is very nice but needs a lot of training in being hands on as mentioned hotel is new so there are still in training...very friendly staff though. Always willing and helpful to go the extra mile.

There is only one restaurant on site with limited options and very little variety each day. The Hotel is new and very clean. The location is good but there are not many things to do within walking distance.
