Amazing place with great staff

I stayed here 3 nights and had the best time. I actually felt like staying longer because of the place and the excellent service. It is great place to rest and chill. It is very peaceful, clean and close to the whale shark center and the dive centers. Both are literally next door. The rooms are spacious and the matresses very good. The restaurant serves really good food and provides Wifi connection. The staff was the best. Always very polite, helpfull and with a smile. Anything you need or want, the will help you to get it. Ah, and do get a massage there, the are really really good.

Nasty rude and agressive

The location is ok but the service and attitude of the owners is terrible
After booking online with booking.com and checking in the owner arrived at our room at about 8:30pm demanding further payment of 500 peso for the AC or she would throw out of the resort
When I showed her the booking receipt with the room details including AC she refused to acknowledge or honour it
I found this behaviour agressive and exceptionally rude as well as unnecessary do not stay here they are dishonest
As well as this there was hot water advertised which did not work. When we asked if it could be fixed they shrugged their shoulders and basically said too bad and did nothing
It felt like extortion and it was, I have travelled extensively for many years and have stayed in a lot of different hotels/resorts but have never encountered such nasty and dishonest management

Beachfront

I may have rated this place higher if it had been business as normal. Located just north of town with other resorts along the beachfront. It had a sign saying temporarily closed (as were 3 other resorts) due to virus concerns. They honoured my booking as I had booked September last year and prepaid. There were only 3 other guests but they checked out the following day. I ended up cutting my stay short as I decided to try and get to Manila airport to leave the country before they closed their borders.
My delux room had clean linens. A long bench to place clothes etc. The aircon worked well. TV not available since the typhoon last December. Things work slowly.
The bathroom was a wet room. Hot water shower with okay pressure.
The restaurant was open but after the other guests left they closed not bothering to inform me. What food I did have was okay.

Pleasant place, nothing fancy or prententious

I had a pleasant experience here , the vibes was very positive as everyone was smiling and they were very accommodating it was raining most of the day so they provided us with umbrellas enough for our team and for every guest who needs them. Our team was on assignment to document some birds and everyone was happy and not stressed by anything, they also opened some coconut for us which we got elsewhere, the rooms were not fancy but very cozy and comfortable

Great Location in Donsol for Doing Nothing....or Everything.

We went to Donsol in the off season (August). Most of Donsol was asleep at the time so the tricycle driver took us (blindly) to Dancalan Beach, as it was one of the few open. We said "what the heck" and 1500 pesos later we had a nice room with A/C. With only 2-3 rooms rented at the time, we had the place virtually to ourselves. The owner (Lorraine) was most accommodating (a little over the top conversationally) and her knowledge of Bicol food was strong (though the restaurant was closed at the time). The beach is "good" especially after they cleaned up the tide-wash debris. We went there to see the area and scope it out for further visits. I will stay here again (we stayed 2 nights this time), and we will most likely dive at the dive center across from the resort.
