The four C’s, Cozy, Comfy, Chilled, Charming
This place was lovely, I have to give special credit to the owner/host, who is one of the most lovely people. It’s a small hostel, with some smaller rooms and a bigger one of 16. This big room is no issue however unlike some other hostels might be as the vibe of the place is extremely chilled out so you are not easily disturbed. Everyone is relaxed and people tend not to disturb or be noisy even if they go out for the night. There is a cozy communal area with games like chess and books, and a small kitchen that doesn’t have a stove, only a microwave and a toaster, but that’s more than enough as Santander has many places to eat.
In the mornings, the host makes breakfast, it’s simple, a few slices of toast with jam and butter and a small omelette, served with coffee or tea and orange juice. I even saw him give gluten free bread for one of the guests. There is often a light music playing and like I said, the whole vibe of the building is chilled and lovely.
Location wise it’s about 40 min walk from the beach through town, and it’s semi-difficult to get public transport because the routes don’t seem to line up very well, but walking is fine and it doesn’t feel that long. There are lots of lovely places to eat very close by and the train station is very near for day trips or getting to the airport (also by bus is easy).
There isn’t a laundry service but there is place to dry your clothes should they be wet from the sea or the laundromat round the corner with is a couple of euros.
There was wifi, and lockers to store your things away, and they speak English and Spanish, and they encourage you to speak Spanish and learn in a adoring funny way.
I was solo travelling here and felt very safe, very at home, and very comfortable.
Cozy, comfortable and chilled out. Perfect for everyone and anyone of all ages, as there were varying ages from 18 to 60+ male and female. Also when I checked out I just hung about as my flight was late in the afternoon and it was relaxed and quiet.
Definitely worth considering if you are heading to Santander!

A day to forget.
PESSIVE place a this price there is better just know how to look. Questionable cleaning, one towel x 2 people 2 showers and two toilets x 20 people. Breakfast nonexistent and cold rooms, I did not want a hotel but not even a chicken coop x 25 € each. Stay away from me!

Would choose another Hostel in Santander
Not the most pleasant experience at the Hostel. The owner could be more friendly and a room of 16 people (without stating this info at booking page) would not a really pleasent surprise. The breakfast was very basic. They charged the whole cost of the stay from my card without informing me in advance.

There are nicer places for same price
Stayed one night... Didn't like it.. Rooms are cold, the owner is always going around closing doors and turning lights off. The patio is a centrally located sguare surrounded by walls. Never gets the sun

Nice, clean hostel in good location
The hostel is quite close to the bus station, about 10 minutes walking uphill (somewhat steep uphill) and an easy 5 minutes walking down. Rafael, the owner, was friendly and very generous in giving tips and info about attractions to visit or restaurants where to eat. The hostel was very clean, both the room and the bathrooms (separate bathrooms for men and women). There are 16 beds in the main room and in the bathroom there are three sinks, two toilets and two showers. I never had to wait that much to use any of them, most of the time they were available. Each bed is equipped with its own light and outlet and I could easily store my backpack (50L) in the locker. Wifi worked perfectly well. In the morning Rafael prepares breakfast, which was a nice touch (toast, yoghurt, cereal, ham, eggs, tea/coffee). Price is competitive and overall the hostel offers a good value accommodation.
