Really nice apartment
Fantastic apartments for location and spaciousness if you read all the details and reviews there is a deposit depending on apartment size(which is swiftly returned) and you do need to pick the keys up from sister hotel Rentalmar apartments however staff are incredibly friendly and help with any questions you have it’s about a 5/10 minute walk from the apartments(on the same street just further down) however staff will offer to phone a taxi would recommend just look into deposit rates and make sure you’re comfortable with picking up and returning keys elsewhere

AVOID!!!
I'd like to say there are no words,
I also want to add to the no words! What a disaster it has been, DO NOT BOOK HERE!
We were dropped off by transfer from Barcelona Airport.. why i have no idea! We arrived approximately at midnight on a main road & told transfer bus ouldnt go down to drop us as street is too narrow. There is no signage for the apartments whatsoever!
We walked carrying our bags for 2 hours looking & asking others where the apartments where. Even the locals couldn't guide us as they'd never heard of it! ( not surprising as there is no signage to Larinar apartments.
We were exhausted & extremely vunerabke 4 women walking the streets in the early hours. We eventually found the apartments but noone to let us in we then had to go to another venue where we could collects the keys! Another 30 minutes walk away. We got the keys at 4am! We are number 352 the apartment is disgusting. Silverfish all over the kitchen & over run with tropical ants. The fridge is rusted & disgusting so we cant buy food as nowhere hygienic to store it.
NO kettle. No toaster & its self catering!
All in all an absolute nightmare from finding it, to getting keys & then discovering it to be absolutely filthy also with no pre warning had to pay €200 euros deposit! AVOID, AVOID & AVOID!

Never again.
Very disappointed. To start with, on arrival there is no meet and greet and no reception. Once finding where we were to collect our keys, rentalmar, we were informed a 300euro deposit was needed before we got our keys, we then returned to the apartment and got stuck in the lift for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Between floors with the inner door continuously opening and closing. The emergency button was pressed numerous times with no response and I called rentalmar twice to request emergency assistance as I was trapped with my children, one of which has chronic lung disease and it was becoming to hot and my children were frightened. I spoke to someone each time, No one came!! I ended up having to call emergency services and the firebrigade came and got us out. Entering our room, all looked fine but on closer inspection, the kitchen & bathroom sink and cooker were dirty, the curtains looked nicotine stained and dirt visible on the walls. The toilet was also not secured to the floor, we found this out when another member of our party almost fell of reaching for the toilet roll.. of which there was only 1 provided for a family of 5 for a weeks stay. It also says basic cleaning supplies are provided but this wasnt the case and the 1 toilet roll was infact the only thing supplied. No bath towels although 5 hand towels were provided. The beds are so uncomfortable and so old that the protective layer flakes of and ends up stuck to you during the night. The main shutter on the livingroom door is broken also. The table on the balcony is broken. The main bedroom table light is broken and flickers constantly. The only nice part about this entire place is the pool, it was spotless and there was always loungers available.. take that last bit how you will. 1* would never return. Iv probably forgot loads too as there was so much but i have lots on video, which are all part of my official complaint but It won't upload them here. Only pictures and I'm NOT surprised.

Fab week at the Larimarapt!!!
Stayed here as a family of 4 for the first week of August 2024 and we had a Fab week in Salou!! The Apartments are Spotless and very well maintained. We wanted Self catering this holiday and they have everything you need. Fridge/freezer, microwave, Cooker/oven Toaster, washing machine. Beds are very comfortable. One bedroom with a double and one bedroom with two singles. There is also a pull out under the couch. Two large balconies. You get two keys, one for access to the apartment block and pool area. The other for your apartment. It is one of the safest places i have ever stayed so no need to worry about the kids!! Lifeguard on duty from 10 until 10.Pool is fab with an 8ft deep end and the pool area is spotless. Only downside is no umbrellas for shade. It was 34c everyday. Mostly Spanish stay here, i think some own their apartments, and its forbidden to reserve sunbeds with towels. No need anyway as there are always beds available!! Only tricky bit is check in. You have to collect keys from the main hotel which is a five min walk up the street. I left the family sit in the shade outside apartment block with the suitcases and went & got the keys. The staff i met at hotel reception were all friendly and polite. Lots of Restaurants /bars within a 10 min walk. Beach very close too. Bus Plana kiosks nearby if you want to book daytrips. We did the Barcelona one. Bruno is a great tour guide. I would highly recommend the Larimarapt for a Self catering holiday and will definitely stay here again.

Off to bad start.

Our flight arrived on time and after usual slow passport control we made it to the transfer desk. We were told it would be an 80 minute wait for a transfer coach, which was on time. Arriving in Salou 75 minutes later at 23.45. We were dropped some distance from our hotel/ apt, but with help from Google maps we arrived at the large complex. The place is very secure with no way in, we were unsure what to do next. It’s now midnight. By chance a wonderful couple who live in the apartments, walking their dogs ( turns out only some are holiday rentals) asked if we were lost. I showed them our booking paperwork. The man called the number on the form which gave a recorded message ( in Spanish, no help) he then noticed the Rentalmar name on the slip I’d been given by the coach transfer and said they have an office here. We walked some 500m to thankfully find it open. I managed to get keys after paying 325€, in damage deposit and visitor tax, not mentioned by Love holidays ( fortunately I did bring my credit card.) If it had not been for this amazing couple we would probably have slept on a park bench. Anyway, once inside, the apt is basic, no toaster, but a small amount of cookware. There are 7 hand towels but no bath towels provided. Also no blankets if it gets chilly. I have taken photo of all damaged items on arrival should they be questioned after we leave. ( broken curtain rail, which fell down completely on day 2, broken worktop at tap in kitchen, damaged socket. We also realized on day 2 that the toilet had a slight leak under the pan which is what’s causing the slight pissy smell, disinfectant is being used in and around the pan after every use) Our apt is roadside first floor and with all windows closed is really quite noisy all night through.
Day 2 & we’ve used the pool a couple of times which is beautifully clean and well cared for. Not too busy in the day, although the local residents descend around 4pm for the evening.
[[For anyone else booked in here, this is the office address to collect keys which is not mentioned by Loveholidays at all…. Rentalmar. Carrer de Navarra, 2, 43840 Salou, Tarragona, Spain]]. The office is open 24/7 so no issue with flight times. We now have 7 days before we worry about when, or if the return transfer will pick us up and get us to the airport in time for our flight home. Fast forward to our return transfer and yes we were picked up at the hotel we’d been dropped at the previous week ( not our accommodation, but a few minutes up the road) We arrived at the airport in time for our flight home which went smoothly.
Salou. My €300 damage deposit was also cancelled from my credit card within a couple of days of arriving home.
The long sandy beach is great for families, but if you’re after something more natural and less busy, we found 3 beautiful coves, 2 Stoney and rocky (Playa del pilons & another next to) where snorkeling was great fun, the Third ( platja dels cappellans) a much smaller sandy beach with no sun loungers, out towards Tarregon.
The old town which is beyond the harbour at Salou is worth a look. Some nice traditional Spanish shops and a fish and meat market along with some lovely fruit stalls. Much less touristy than the strip and side streets with their cafe bars and souvenir shops.
