Great value for money- would recommend if you don't mind shared facilities

Everything about the property is great for the price paid. The location is amazing as you are straight off les rambles and near the gothic quarter.
We didn't have a problem with the shared facilities- they were always available when we needed to use them and always stocked up with toiletries. We also found them to be very clean and well presented.
We had internal room number 9 and it was very spacious, clean and well presented. During our stay the hotel was also working to improve their current facilities. The hotel also allows you to leave your belongings on the day of departure and collect them just before you leave which was ideal for us.
The only downside to the hotel is that the doors and walls are very thin- if you have loud neighbours you will be woken up (this was only an issue once for us but I can imagine if you travel at peak times it may be a bigger problem).

Very bad

They cancel my reservation due to “operational” problems. Too bad Booking.com support responds with these exact words: “Unfortunately, The MO GOTIC has informed us that it is no longer possible to accommodate you from Sat 29 Nov 2025 to Mon 1 Dec 2025 due to the property being unable to find or confirm your booking.” How do you lose a reservation????

Too expensive for so little

All toilets smell like urine. It is horrible. They changed us more for the tourist tax. No glasses to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth. No handkerchiefs. Unprofessional staff.

A youth hostel at most, sleeping impossible

I stayed in this "hotel" during Mobile World Congress 2024 and paid 220 EUR per night. In return, I received a room with almost no space, SHARED BATHROOMS, shared toilets, and so much noise that I couldn't get sleep the whole week.
Shared bathrooms were not clear to me when making the reservation, and they asked for cash in advance: now I know why. Also one of the bathrooms went out of order during my stay so we had only 3 showers for the whole floor.
In some of the bathrooms there is no shelf or hook so you have to put your staff onto the toilet seat... Some have only a hook, and in none there is a space within the shower cabin to place your washing sponge or similar.
The walls were so thin, windows and door are old, each noise made me wake up until 5-6am in the morning.
Which was actually good, because if you are not the first person entering the bathroom, you get a dirty shower with an already used floor towel. The ventilation is poor and the locks so old that in one bathroom, I almost got stuck.
There are very steep stairs which makes it hard to handle a big suitcase.
When I hung up my blazers I realised too late that the wall is marking off white.
The only positive thing about this place is its location and the friendly staff.
Probably it's much cheaper when there's no Congress and might be suitable for students. But otherwise I recommend to stay away from this place.

Hotel to avoid

We paid 210€ per night! The Hotel does not conform to the photos, very small room and equally small bathroom with mold everywhere as well as a smell of humidity. The room had no outside light (no windows). For this price a minimum of cleanliness and standard was expected and was not there. The only positive point of the hotel is its location because it is on La Rembla.
I strongly advise against it.
