Old Town

Stayed here overnight and I must say, if ever I go to Phuket specifically in Old Town, this is where I’m going to stay. It’s nearby the restaurants which is good. The room is very quiet and comfortable, plus it is spacious. The staff is also very nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

Worst experience so far! Don’t book this

⭐️ 1 Star – Worst hostel experience of our entire trip
We have been traveling for one full month and have stayed in hostels the entire time. This hostel in Phuket was supposed to be our final destination — and we have NEVER experienced anything like this.
When we entered the room, we were absolutely shocked. There was sand in our beds. There were hairs everywhere: on the pillows, on the sheets, all over the beds. It genuinely looked like the beds had not been cleaned at all after the previous guests.
On top of that, the room smelled absolutely horrible — a strong mix of sweaty feet and sweat. The room had no window (which was mentioned in the listing), but because of the smell combined with heavy air freshener, it became completely unbearable. We couldn’t even get fresh air, making it impossible to sleep properly.
We found this completely unacceptable. After the first night, we asked for either a refund for the second night or a different room. Both were refused, without any effort to help or find a solution.
What made it even worse: the woman at the front desk told us we had to report before 12 PM. We went to the beach that morning, assuming she would handle it — especially since we were already at the desk at 7 AM. Later, she sent her employees (the owner) to do the dirty work and communicated through a Google Translate photo, saying we were “too late” and therefore not eligible for a refund. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.
This hostel is dirty, unhygienic, poorly managed, and absolutely not guest-friendly.
Do not book this room. Do not book this hostel.

⭐️ 1 ster – Slechtste hostelervaring van onze hele reis
Wij zijn al een maand aan het reizen en hebben in die tijd uitsluitend in hostels verbleven. Dit hostel in Phuket was onze eindbestemming — en we hebben nog nooit zoiets meegemaakt.
Bij binnenkomst stonden we echt versteld. Er lag zand in onze bedden. Overal haren: op de kussens, op de lakens, op alle bedden. Het leek er sterk op dat de bedden helemaal niet waren schoongemaakt na de vorige gasten.
Daarbovenop kwam een extreem vieze geur in de kamer — een zware lucht van zweetvoeten en zweet. De kamer had geen raam (dit stond vermeld), maar door de combinatie van deze stank en sterke luchtverfrisser werd het ondraaglijk. Frisse lucht was onmogelijk, waardoor slapen bijna niet ging.
Wij vonden dit volstrekt onacceptabel. Na de eerste nacht hebben we gevraagd om een refund voor de tweede nacht of een andere kamer. Beide opties werden direct geweigerd, zonder enige moeite om mee te denken.
Wat het nog erger maakt: de vrouw bij de receptie zei dat we ons voor 12 uur moesten melden. Wij gingen die ochtend naar het strand en dachten dat zij het verder zou regelen — zeker omdat wij al om 7 uur ’s ochtends bij haar aan de balie stonden. Vervolgens stuurde ze haar medewerkers (de eigenaar) om het vuile werk te doen en communiceerde ze via een Google Translate-foto dat we “te laat” waren en daarom geen refund kregen. Zeer onprofessioneel en respectloos.
Dit hostel is vies, onhygiënisch, slecht georganiseerd en totaal niet gastvrij.
Boek deze kamer niet. Boek dit hostel niet

Staff smiling and attentive. Poor sound insulation

Staff smiling and pleasant. We were switched rooms after informing the staff that our neighbor was extremely noisy, all night. Really disrespectful tourist.

negative experience

I begin by saying that I do not share at all the positive reviews here (which among other things led me to book at this property for two nights). Let's start from the room: on the fourth floor..no elevator. Just entered: strong smell of smoke, I go down to the reception to talk to the attendant and ask if I can have another room, tells me that I am fully booked, spraying a large amount of deodorant in the room to cover the bad smell. The room is devoid of everything: of the TV (present in the other rooms) there is only a wall bracket, no fridge (present on the lower floor and shared), sink in the same room as the bedroom and without hot water, no hairdryer, even on request (fixed, always on the lower floor of mine), no hand soap (only 2 wall dispensers of shampoo and shower gel), 2 bottles of drinking water (filtered by them practically and bottled), provided only on the first day, bed leaning against the wall without side spaces to access it, no wardrobe .. and only 3 plastic hangers and 2 measly wall hooks: despite the minimum equipment of the room, at check in I was required a security deposit of 500 baht (I wonder what I could have damaged in the room ..). Uncomfortable shower: with the jet of water directed towards the glazing instead of the body, due to the impossibility of adjusting the spout connection in the wall bracket. No breakfast, not even scanty, despite reading the presence by other reviewers. The structure is really dark, especially in the corridors, with signs of wear that could easily be healed. Not far from the center of the old town and average price. I understand that this is a hostel and not a hotel, but I have stayed in much better hostels and equipped with everything. Here, it all seemed approximate and aimed at saving. Not recommended therefore.

All good and will be back

The hostel’s location is excellent, within walking distance to the local market, old town, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. The room was clean and the facilities were sufficient for a comfortable stay.
