Centara Kata Resort Phuket - recommended!
Spent a glorious week at Centara Kata Resort. It is value for money. Staff was friendly and professional. Food was delicious. They accommodated my gluten free requirement and Chef was available daily to ensure no mistakes were made. Two great theme shows offered - cabaret and thai dancing in the week. Rooms are neat and beds are very comfortable with a lovely balcony looking onto pool. They have a quiet pool for adults to swim and 2 family pools available with a pool bar. Happy hour for cocktails 16.00 - 18.00pm every day with tasty cocktails and nice variety offered. 15 min walk to beach or free transport provided on the hour. Great place and experience overall.

Its kind of OK
On a positive side, location is great and lot of shops and restaurants around. One hour drive from airport and can cost between 600 to 1000 BAHT. Kids facilities and swimming pools are nice, breakfast is good enough and fairly reasonable. Beach is 15 minutes walk and there is free shuttle from hotel. Ngek in restaurant is lovely lady & lady in kids play area was kind. Other than that nothing special we noticed during our 5 nights stay.
Customer care was fairly ok and hardly smile. One example, gentlemen called Waipon helped 1st time to inflate floaters while 2nd time he refused and asked my wife to use her mouth and inflate it. Huge confusion on 1st day where half board definition was not known by most of them and kept insisting to pay for breakfast while half board should include breakfast & one meal. Dont book directly from their website to avoid confusion. I would only return if there is no other options available around

Great Stay at the Centara
Cannot praise the service and facilities enough fantastic, if you have a family with multiple rooms this is the place. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with good aircon. The pool area is excellent for everyone including a fun park for the young one's. Restaurant was excellent and the breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. Communication is excellent and they have events everyday if you choose including traditional Thai dancing or the cabaret at dinner. All in all was a fantastic family holiday - thankyou to Centara.

I do not recommend
Negative: reception staff not very helpful, breakfast not very well stocked in quantity, excessive price of food in the hotel, ball games allowed in the pool which disturbs the tranquility, 2 breakfasts to take away on the last day for 3 people!
Positive: well-appointed room, decent housekeeping, well-maintained pools and gardens, adorable cats

The most hospitable hotel in Phuket!
The case where a hotel can safely be recommended!
Rooms are spacious, one bedroom. There is a kitchenette with a stove, sink and medium-sized fridge.
Cleaning is daily and very good.
There is a Wi-Fi throughout the property, which will be connected to you right at the reception.
Breakfast has everything you need: oatmeal, yogurt and cereal, fruit, pastries, cheese, sausage, waffles, pancakes and all kinds of eggs. Plus always local dishes.
Lunches and dinners on the menu, not the buffet. Feeding chic, eating local and European dishes, very large portions.
Parental advice is to add regular chicken soup to the children's menu.
But the good thing about the hotel is the staff. Attentive, friendly, caring. Kids are just loved. Special hello to the guys Kla, Mark, Wan, Aoy
The only thing you can pick on is the khat beach itself. Keep in mind that all of line one is blocked by some municipal area to be bypassed. It takes 15-20 minutes from the hotel to the beach. There's a shuttle every hour.
