A good choice

We spent 1 night here a couple of weeks ago. We had originally booked a different hotel, but moved to the Ibis at the last minute as we were in desperate need of a hotel with air conditioning due to the extreme heat.
We were able to check in early which was a bonus. Our room was large and bright, looked like it had been recently refurbished too. The bed was comfy and the bathroom large and modern. Best of all, it had the air conditioning we needed!
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but found a bakery less than 10 minutes walk away which had nice pastries and coffee.
In the evenings we walked to nearby Place Carnot for a couple of drinks and food.
The staff at this Ibis were great - very friendly and also helpful when we needed to book a taxi.
Glad we stayed here.

Executive room was really spacious.
Bed, pillows etc were very comfortable.
Breakfast is buffet style with lots of fresh fruit, fresh bread, etc. Hot option of sausage and bacon available. As well as cook your own boiled eggs. Tea, coffee and fruit juices also available.
Staff are excellent, friendly, courteous and helpful.
Only disappointment is NO tea, coffee or bottled water available in the rooms.
Everything else is excellent. Location is good. Ten to fifteen minutes easy stroll to the city. Public transport five minutes away
Overall highly recommend.

Excellent location if you want to stay in the Presqu’île area, which we did. Unlike many Ibis hotels, which are modern purpose-built hotels with budget-sized rooms, this one was an older converted building with larger rooms; as a family of four, the extra space was unexpected and nice. The hotel is sandwiched between the Perrache train station and the central arterial road, but the room was quiet and peaceful. The Brasserie Georges next door is a local institution and a must.

Misadventure at the Ibis Hotel

Average hotel, room with the bare minimum... Little tip, do not book your parking on the Qpark site, recommended at the reception of the Ibis hotel because when we arrived at the parking located on Smith Street as planned, vehicles were blocking access and we had to park on another parking lot. We had difficulty not paying twice, which somewhat ruined our stay because we lost time...
