Confortable, clean, central and cheap

I travel frequently to Madrid and I usually stay at the hostel Casillas. It has an excellent location. The manager is very friendly, attentive and helpful. It is always very clean and correct. Highly recommended place in the center and with very competitive prices.

Shameful.

The guy in the reception with the drugs, dirty him and the place, attacked me, the place is on the fourth floor with no elevator, wifi doesn't work, no respect. Shameful.

Small but basic

Basic, small no frills room with bathroom in a good location. Unfortunately they had no gas or hot water so had to change Hostal. Gave refund just unfortunate. You have to climb 4 flights of stairs at this hostel as no lift

Very basic, but I'd stay again

This hostel is in a great location, close to a main metro stop that can take you to all parts of the city, however on the main street opposite the hostel are quite a few prostitutes and shady characters late in the evening, although we had no bother.
It wasn't easy to find - there were no signs advertising the hostel on the door and we had to take a chance and use the buzzer to check if we were in the right place. There is no lift and it's about 3-4 flights of stairs to get to the hostel as it is basically an apartment turned into a hostel. The key to the main door sticks a bit and can be difficult to open also. The rooms are very basic and very small, although the beds are fine to sleep on. The bathroom is also very small and basic but works fine. There was free wifi which was great too.
This hostel is perfect for travellers who just need a place to sleep and aren't too fussed with extra comforts! Would stay again!

Not recommended

Yes, the hotel is located in a great place BUT it's in the third floor with no elevator - had to carry my baggage to the third floor.. the wifi reception doesn't work on most of the room's, there's no air conditioner only heating, therefore if you have other choice I would suggest you wouldn't go here!!
