Gorgeous, great location and pleasurable :)
Already looked at returning soon after a lovely stay for our anniversary.
The hotel itself was easy to find and fab location, the decor is quirky and full of mystery. The room was lovely, clean and The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bed and pillows were very comfy, best night sleep in a long time.
The bath and bathroom was amazing, free bath bomb was a nice touch for a lovely bath, (a bottle of bubble bath would be nice for extra bubbles). Shower was lovely.
Another positive was the staff’s attention to detail, recommendations, conversation, safety details and nothing was to small.
Cons (minor for us) It was a little noisy coming back as the bar next door was just next to us but didn’t keep us awake and the hotel offered earplugs if needed.
The walls are a little thin but again didn’t put us off overall.
We can’t wait to return and have already recommended the hotel to our friends.

Underwhelming and overpriced
Also ridiculously over priced. We paid £270 for one Saturday night. They don't offer breakfast. I would have said that half that amount would have been fair but definitely no more

Absolute Nightmare – Mold, No Bathroom Door, and Unfair Fees!
The room was damp, covered in visible mold, and had a terrible foul odour that made it completely unhygienic to breathe in. To make matters worse, the toilet and shower were completely open to the room with no door at all, which is incredibly uncomfortable and unacceptable.
When we raised these severe hygiene issues with the staff, instead of apologizing and fixing the problem, they made us pay an extra £20 just to change our room! Charging guests extra money to move away from a moldy, uninhabitable room is outrageous.
We have already filed an official complaint with York City Council Environmental Health. Save your money and health—avoid Impossible Motel at all costs!

We take any concerns regarding cleanliness, damp or mould extremely seriously. Our team did respond to your concerns during your stay and assisted with a room change. We are, however, sorry that you felt the room did not meet the standards you expected.
Our rooms are individually designed within a historic building, and some do feature open-plan bathroom arrangements without a traditional door. This is part of the room design and is reflected in the room information provided when booking. We appreciate, however, that this layout will not suit every guest.
We are also sorry that you were unhappy with the additional charge associated with changing rooms. We appreciate your concerns and will review the circumstances surrounding this with the relevant team.
