Robyn and Chris were wonderful hosts. After booking we sent an email explaining we are elderly travelers and if possible would appreciate a ground floor room to avoid stairs. They responded promptly saying they would ensure we had a ground floor room. Our room and the commons area were spotless. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. And we rode a ferry to Ambleside then took the 599 bus back to Bowness and one of its stops was on the corner by Oakfold House. So convenient! Ten thumbs up.

Great location in old Victorian building, so had a bit of character, a few minutes walk to Bowness town centre and boats. Breakfast was fantastic and the added bonus of the use of the spa down the road was good.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful in providing information about activities in and around Bowness. The breakfast was very good. The room and bed was very comfortable. Would stay again.

Great place.

Lovely place and a lovely room, number 8. In an ideal location for walking down to Bowness or up to Windermere for buses and trains. Lovely decor of a what must have been a very elegant house in its day. Lovely hosts with good choice of breakfasts. Piping hot water in a nice big bath, just what's needed after walking. Nice and quiet and whilst we didn't go in a car i could see there was adequate safe car parking at the rear. Stayed for 3 nights and the whole time we were there.

Lovely accommodations, staff and setting.

Beautiful decor and setting. Easy walk to pier. Very kind staff. Exceptional. Would stay there again for certain.
