Clean lodge
Pros
The lodge was clean, I was worried and took bleach but didn't need it. Nice quiet location, with bus stop and train not too far away from site. Excellent base for exploring the area. Very comfy beds, nice towels and showers.
Cons.
Very poor internet/WiFi, couldn't watch movies in the evening after being out all day.

Overall ok but needs updating in places
Juniper 2 premier needs an upgrade but overall satisfactory
Shower in ensuite is old and not looking great so might be time for an update, it smells of mould and has mould patches on the ceiling
The overall lodge is nice but it definitely needs a refurbishment in certain areas (ensuite and tvs)
Kitchen is lovely and well proportioned.
Reception team were lovely on arrival.
Privacy in hot tub lodges is great.
It was clean, tidy but it had a stagnant water smell in the lodge, which was not great when you first arrive.
We bought our own fans as it was really warm over July. They had one in a wardrobe but it was old & dirty looking.
Lidl is less than 10 mins away by car and this was easy to get to, to stock up on essentials for the week.
Location is excellent 15 mins from Poole, 12 miles from Monkey world, close to Sandbanks, Bournemouth, Corfe castle so lots to do.
Wifi is diabolical in the lodge and patchy at best so come prepared for that as it was a bit of a pain.
No smart tv so we could not chill in the evening with netflix/disney, all the other lodges I've been to have this so spend some money and upgrade this bit please.
Hot water is inconsistent so showers were not super fun.
There is a Pub a short walk (slightly dicey) walk away but book ahead and be prepared to wait for food.

We are sorry to hear you were disappointed during your stay, happy to read the lodge was clean and tidy, Kitchen and our Reception Team were lovely. We are fortunate with our location, ideally situated for local attractions.

Nice lodge in a good location, minor issues.
It’s a nice location the site offers literally nothing in terms of amenities, but the lodges are pretty good. I had read reviews questioning the cleanliness of the lodges but ours was nice and clean. We also saw the time spent on cleaning the next door lodge and were impressed.
We holidayed during a week of extreme heat, the lodges heat up during the day, but at night they were cooler than our house. We found a shady spot behind our lodge which was relatively cool. Biggest complaint was the wifi which was intermittent, there was no chance of getting the smart TV to connect to it. It appears to be a blanket WiFi that cover the whole site, last year we stayed in a lodge that had its own router and the WiFi was so much better. Time to update your systems.
It’s slightly disappointing that the reception closes at 5pm on Saturdays (we checked in at 4pm) and closes all day Sunday, leaving you without necessary support.

Please to note you found your lodge pretty good and was nice and clean, impressed by the time spent cleaning in the one next door. Unfortunately none of the TV's are able to connect to the internet. Reception does close at 5pm on Saturday's & closed on Sunday's but we do not leave you without support, there is a contact number on the map provided which during the day goes to a member of the team on-site during the day and after hours to a emergency message with a number to call for assistance.

Based on our experience, we simply cannot recommend Wareham Forest Lodge Retreat or Darwin Escapes. One star.
Where do I even begin?
This holiday was supposed to be a chance for our family to relax and make memories together. Instead, it has been dominated by problems, complaints, emails, phone calls and hours of our own time trying to get basic issues resolved.
From the very beginning, things went wrong.
When we reported problems, we weren’t helped efficiently. Instead, we were passed from one department to another, repeatedly asked to resend information that Darwin Escapes had already been given, and spent hours of our holiday chasing people because of mistakes that weren’t ours.
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse, at around 9:45 p.m. one evening we lost the lights in the main bathroom, hallway and second bedroom. We also had no hot water.
Naturally, we rang the emergency out-of-hours number we had been provided.
Nobody was available.
Think about that for a moment.
Guests are left without lighting, without hot water and without emergency assistance.
That is simply unacceptable.
This wasn’t a minor inconvenience. It was the latest in a catalogue of issues that completely overshadowed what should have been a relaxing family break.
The most disappointing part wasn’t just the problems themselves. Things can go wrong anywhere.
It was the way they were handled.
Poor communication.
Being passed between departments.
Repeatedly having to chase updates.
Hours of holiday wasted trying to resolve issues that should never have become our responsibility.
By the end of our stay, we felt exhausted, frustrated and completely let down.
For the amount of money people spend on a holiday, you expect accommodation that works, support when something goes wrong and customer service that genuinely cares about putting things right.
Sadly, that wasn’t our experience.
I sincerely hope Darwin Escapes takes this feedback seriously because no family should have the holiday we’ve experienced.
Based on our experience, we simply cannot recommend Wareham Forest Lodge Retreat or Darwin Escapes.

Cleanliness …… again.
So, here we are again. Lovely location, decent lodges, friendly staff, good value for money. Cleanliness…… Oh dear.
I have no idea what goes on when the manager has to check the lodge is done before checking in.. The cleaning is still atrocious. Bodily hair in the bathroom, dead flies and crumbs on the kitchen top, hair on the floor, dusty cabinets. Come on Wareham Lodge, sort this out. You have numerous regular reviews regarding cleanliness. SORT IT OUT because everytime I go here, I spend 2 hours cleaning it to an average standard. You have a lovely setup. Finish it off by retraining your cleaning staff because they are not up to standard for a lodge retreat of this calibre. Spoils it a lot.
