All staff were friendly and welcoming...our room was very comfortable and clean.
Shower was excellent
Food was of very high quality and lots of it
Recommend the Steak & Ale pie with Garlic Mash & Fish n Chips
The local ale was lovely...and local gins and isle of wight whisky went down well.
All in all a 10/10 experience from start to finish

Filthy toilets both the men and womens!

Blown away by how dirty the toilets were. The doors to the cubicle are absolutely filthy with stains and god knows what stuck to them. Inside the toilet the dust was piled high on the skirting board and looked like it had not been cleaned for months. The toilet are was very grubby ..walls, floor....everywhere! This was months of filth. Unbelievable! We had intended to order food but this put us right off. I have never seen a pub toilet so filthy! The gents was the same I am told and the door was also very stained. How difficult is it to keep the toilets clean!! Very disappointed as have been many times in the past but now it's terribly run down. I dread to think what the food prep area is like. Wish we had taken photos

Unwelcome guests

We were booked for Friday seventh of August at 8 pm. We were told we couldn’t have any later Table as they wanted to close -
though their website states they are open till 10:30 pm.
We arrived and ordered our food and told we couldn’t have a tab we had to pay as we ordered, which wasn’t a problem.
The food came and three out of our four meals were really bad fatty boiled ham peas that will like bullets a very dry fish cake and very dry pie.
One of the waiting staff, a young lady was particularly off and showed distain when I asked for an ice bucket for our wine which I had paid £29 for a Pinot Grigio
The worst thing of All was at 9:30 pm with no apology or any word they started putting of the heavy wooden chairs on the tables all around us banging and cluttering whilst we were still eating.
If someone would’ve said - did we mind we would’ve said no, but they just started almost throwing the chairs onto the table tables around us.
We didn’t feel welcomed when we arrived at 8 pm but by 9:30 pm we felt compelled to leave and we were the only people in the place on a Friday night. They clearly wanted to finish early.
If we ever go again, it will not be in the evening although it’s quite pleasant outside during the day.

Excellent Buddle

This still remains my best pub on the island with excellent food and a great environment. A great place to take the family.

Disappointed

Was really looking forward to our visit but sadly we were disappointed.
The good order was cocked up with one of our party’s order being forgotten, resulting in eating at different times.
The food was like warm at best and tasteless.
Will not be returning.
