The Bridge
The Bridge sijaitsee kohteessa Macclesfield. Gorgeous place, and delicious food!!
Absolutely gorgeous place to eat, had a really lovely seared salmon meal, and were served by really friendly staff! Would definitely come again

Filthy haunted house experience
Attending a funeral we booked to stay here for two nights due to high reviews and pictures from their website but what we found was completely different and the ads promoting this very misleading
On arrival we had to walk down a narrow alley road to reach reception which was unmanned “ go to bar “ said a notice & we did .
I had already filled in an online form for checking in 2 times which bounced back
Chaotic reception followed after a hint for our booking then we were asked again when asking for a key ??
Finally resolved we walked a very long way to our room.
Room was dark dusty and full of cobwebs, but just as we were about to return to reception a guy knocked on the door saying we had been given the wrong room and we had to go to next door room 22
This too was dark and dingy and dusty with cobwebs everywhere and like the rest of the hotel in need of updating refurbishing (dark blue walls & ceiling ??)
Filthy windows prevented us from admiring the riverside view advertised as beautiful however later on we found ourselves looking at an overgrown unkempt mango grove from the Philippines looking like the land that time forgot with a stream dribbling away.
No wonder the windows were filthy.
We were constantly irritated by the door slamming and crashes from the room above us from the early hours & late at night & we assumed upstairs was so dark like ours the people were looking for a torch & knocking over furniture
The only reason we didn’t leave was because we were attending a funeral service and the wake was being held at the bridge so we roughed it out
The bathroom was a + big with a good shower & plenty of towels.
The restaurant offered very little choice of menus and was overpriced for what you received.when you ordered.
The gardens outside were very overgrown & unkempt
The whole place looked like a haunted house that even ghosts wouldn’t be seen in and the mismatched dusty dirty furnishings and fixtures were so mismatched that they did nothing to enhance the surrounding.
WiFi kept crashing so rendered your phone useless
On leaving the staff were disinterested and didn’t even bother to ask how our stay was.
I am sorry to leave a disappointing review but it’s the truth and we will never return.
So please be warned anyone thinking of booking here
As stated earlier the adverts are misleading so do be careful.
It’s very pricey for what you get
£214 for two nights for a double deluxe room with riverside views with no views & of hardly any sleep and chaos in a hotel that resembled a haunted house
Feel ripped off but don’t take my word for it .

Don’t assume all is well!!
Just wanted to give anyone thinking of booking at this hotel or via Booking.com a heads up!
Having driven over 5 hours on the day of the stay, we arrived to check-in early evening at The Bridge. Upon arrival we were advised, rather abruptly, that our reservation for the evening had been cancelled and there was no availability for us to stay.
The booking had been made two days previously via booking.com, payment had been made in full, together with a dinner reservation for that evening also.
We were tired, shocked and upset at the prospect of having to return home that evening.
For the first time also, we had our 13 year old cocker spaniel with us as no alternative care was available at home and we had to travel to make a collection near by on the Sunday.
Finding somewhere else was near impossible given the time of year and having our pooch in tow!
We had received an email at 2pm that afternoon we found upon checking from booking.com advising that the reservation had been cancelled as The Bridge was not able to accommodate us.
Given the booking was that day and there was a very good chance we were already on route at 2pm, a courtesy phone call at least would of been useful! We could of at least then had the option to turn around much nearer to home or make alternative arrangements.
The Bridge advised that Booking.com cancelled the booking. I don’t suppose we will ever get to the bottom of who did what but a lesson learned, if it’s booked and paid for, don’t assume all is well!!!

I wouldn’t recommend or stay again
Stayed for a night for my birthday and was really disappointed. I’d booked dinner and Sunday lunch (confirmations received but we weren’t on the list for a table apparently) didn’t bother staying for any evening food as it was empty, the dining room was dirty and lights weren’t working and carpet had rips in it - alarm bells were going crazy in my head. There’s a great pizza place across the road though - highly recommend if you get stuck.
We stayed in room 21 which was overlooking the garden. Where do I start… ripped carpet, ceiling tiles moved, lights not working, shower leaked, bath panel pushed in, bathroom hairdryer condemned by my electrician boyfriend. Also no extractor fan and the bathroom windows were sealed shut. In pics of the room I’ve seen there’d were side lights but they weren’t present which made bed side reading a challenge - no one likes a main light vibes anymore… On the plus side, the bed was clean and comfy.
We did have a night cap in the garden which did look lovely but on close inspection it was overgrown and seats were ripped.
The breakfast was good but the breakfast staff were a little rude.
The room cost £159 for the night and it wasn’t worth it. The pictures look lovely but they must be really old as this place has seen better days. I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.

Enjoyable stay room very clean the staff were very helpful. Evening meal delicious as was the breakfast more cooked perfectly a d were hot. Would definitely recommend a d would stay again
