Great First Stay in London with Spacious Rooms & Friendly Staff

Cricketers Hostel was our first hostel stay since arriving in the UK, and it made a great impression! We landed late but were able to check in at 11 AM, and the staff were very courteous throughout. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with in-room lockers and a very roomy bathroom. They even gave us complimentary earbuds—though they didn’t quite fit my ears, it was a nice touch!
The kitchen is great and well-equipped, though it can get crowded during peak times. One small downside was having to walk 10-15 minutes to their sister hostel, Dover Castle Hostel, for the check-in process, which was a bit inconvenient at night with all our luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent. The location is fantastic—close to the tube station and central London, making it easy to explore the city.
Overall, one of our best hostel stays so far!

Never go there

Never go there anyway, but as a woman, certainly not. Manager just walks into your room without knocking and only looks at you dirty and then looks for a reason to just throw you out on the street

Certainly misogynistic hostel and staff

A warned person counts for two. Look especially at their reviews with 1 star. Manager approached you in a very unfriendly way for no legitimate reason. Discussion was about a parasol. Then you walk away and he chases you to your room without knocking and continues the discussion. After I told him 3 times to leave because I did nothing wrong, he kept going. After yelling at him to leave me alone I was called names and evicted from the hostel. I didn't want to stay there because I felt very unsafe and just didn't call the police because I didn't have time, because I had to take care of something else ASAP otherwise I was on the street,

Horrendous!

Horrible place! Never ever stay there if you have any self respect.
- The hostel has no reception, no signs, as they hide from the local authorities. They dont comply with health and safety regulations.
- It is situated above Domino’s pizza with a very steep stair case, if you have a luggage its gonna be hard to pull it up ;)
- The check in and key collection is at another! hostel, situated 30 minutes walkaway from this hostel. So take a taxi or metro for extra £££, overwise walk for 30 mins with your luggage. Good luck. And there is another steep staircase as well ;)
- There is a £10 deposit on top of the price, which they dont want to return unless forced to do so.
- The rooms and windows are shaken from underground trains. Hard to sleep.
- Horible dirty old bathrooms. And its not enough of them either. The bathrooms and toilets are NOT Heated. There are no radiators. Its cold. Its the same temperature as outside. Good luck in taking off your clothes at +5C outside in winter.
- Horrible, rude, disrespectful stuff. The senior guy who I believe is named Robert (he looks like a hairy biker) has a serious problems with anger management. You wouldnt feel welcomed or respected as a guest. Stay away from him.
- Your bed is gonna be stripped off at 8:37 in the morning by Robert, when you went to brush your teeth ;) the check out is at 11 o’clock, but they want you to leave earlier and make it super uncomfortable to stay a minute longer. As they need to wash those sheets in the washing machines at the kitchen. ;) Mind you, those washing machines are not for customers, but for hostel saving money on the laundry. ;)
- There is no facilities to leave your luggage unless you go to the sister hotel again, where you originally collected the keys ;) not worth it.
We paid £80 for 2 nights for 2 people with £10 deposits on top of that, plus a cost of transportation to collect the keys. In total, over £100 for 2 nights in hostel in Lambeth. It is neither cheap, nor affordable. You can get a hotel for about this amount.
overall, nothing good or decent about this place. Avoid.

Mismanagement. I booked a room for four, but they gave me a room for six.

I booked a room for four, but they gave me a room for six. There are insufficient toilets and showers, and there's nobody on the streets after 10 pm. Also, the hostel located next to the road is extremely noisy. I wouldn't recommend it.
