Quiet room.

Stopped here to attend a wedding reception in Ryton. We found the hotel to be really very quiet. The beds super comfy. Finished off with a super large full English breakfast, very nice too.
The pub had a nice atmosphere and nice decor, whilst waiting for our taxi we saw great looking food being served, so we will probably have to go back to try some at some point in the future.

Double booked, didn't honour our booking.

I booked on their website in February for a night in August. I emailed them prior to confirm our early check in, which was ignored. I then called and they said they had no record of our booking, even though I had email confirmation from them and a booking reference. They said they were fully booked so unable to fulfil our booking.
Had I not happened to call, we wouldn't have known this until we arrived on the day. We had to find alternative accomodation at a higher cost due to the short notice. Very disappointing.

I am sorry your booking was not on our system. I do not know why that happened. whilst speaking to you on the phone I did offer to find you alternative accommodation but you declined and wanted to source other accommodation yourself. We do not always monitor our emails, and do not ignore guests, you were able to contact us via telephone where we responded and also tried to find a solution to the issue. We also would not of contacted you about your booking previously because you were not on our system so we would not of had any details in which to contact you. again we are sorry this happened. best wishes the team at the three horseshoes

4 awful meals

We've never had such awful meals. Cremated tough burger. Cremated fish . Uncooked lasagna. A guess what the pie is, well none of us could ? Sent the fish back and apparently that's how it comes.
We'll not be going back. No wonder only 7 people there on a Friday night.

I am truely sorry to hear you did not like the meals on your visit. you were given a check back after your meals arrived and was offered a replacement fish meal. Yes there are times that we are not busy when we expect to be, just as many other venues experience that same issue. but that is not an indication of poor quality meals being served. We have many very satisfied guests who return time and again. hopefully you will return , best wishes the team at the three horseshoes

Great little pub

Great pub with lovely beer garden. Also have rooms: we stayed for 4 nights and the accommodation was great. However, we did request breakfast for the 4 mornings of our stay, only able to get it 1 morning as the pub was closed the other 3. Would stay again because of location but would expect better breakfast arrangements.

Reservation fiasco

Do not trust them with your booking. On the 8th of February 2026 I reserved 5 rooms for the 25th July. They messaged me on the same day, thanking me for choosing to stay with them. On the 7th July they contacted me to say my confirmed reservation had been cancelled as they had overbooked. Not just one or two of the rooms, all five. They stated that they had checked the booking dates and that I was the last to book these rooms and therefore, that's why I was cancelled.
A reunion was ruined as a result.
Very suspicious. All five rooms booked five months previously doubled booked and then cancelled 18 days before the reservation date.
Don't trust them with your booking.

I am sorry to see what occurred here, and as soon as we were aware we contacted you to inform you which was 18 days before your stay with us. which I know is not ideal but hopefully you would have time to rebook somewhere else. Booking.com inadvertantly overbooked us. as soon as we were aware we checked all the bookings and the earliest bookings were honoured and the latest booking which was yours we then had no choice but to cancel. It is not in our interest to cancel a larger booking with five rooms in favour of other small bookings. the other bookings were also booked through booking.com and although they were all booked individually they were all for the same party of people and were booked at the same time. there is nothing suspicious in it. so please direct your frustration at booking.com as its not fair that we take the negative review for their overbooking mistake. best wishes the team at the three horseshoes
