Older style but large rooms, cosy, very clean and friendly staff

I've stayed at most hotels in Cherkasy. This is the most friendly hotel. Staff great! Check in perfect. I had made several personal requests regarding my room, and everything was in place when I checked in. Very good free WIFI any time of day or night. I also had a simple breakfast request which the provided each day. The room was well furnished with a real queen size bed (unlike another Cherkasy hotel in the city centre, which just pushes 2 single beds together.) The hotel has a small but very functional fitness room. My visit was during very cold weather, but the heater in the room worked perfectly. As well, staff provided me with a separate portable heater "just in case"....never needed it. The room has a second door inside the room to provide extra quiet from the hallway. Kettle, fridge, water, cups, silverware all provided in-room. I had a nice unobstructed view towards the river. The rooms facing the street at the front of the hotel have balconies. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the main street Shevchenko Blvd. Within 5 minutes from the hotel is "Khreschatyk City" with cafes, restaurants, hookah bars, a food store, ATM's etc.
The TV system is plentiful but only features Ukrainian / Russian language programs. Sometimes you'll find something in German or Polish....No English channels, but there is a good music video channel I had on most of the time I was inside my room...which wasn't much time. Because my room faces the river, at night time, I had a very quiet sleep.

Good for Ukrainians! Not good for Foreigners

Good place if you are Ukrainian or speak Ukrainian. However, this hotel is not a great option for foreigners or those who don't speak Ukrainian. In my multiple interactions with the staff, I perceived them to be borderline rude. The facilities need an upgrade: place was built in Soviet Era and 1 gets the feel of that. The "gym" is in a dusty non-ventilated attic. Moreover, the Dnipro River is at least a 12-15 (rather complicated) Walk from the hotel.

Could be in your travel .

If you looking for location, quality and good price this hotelis is for you. Ask a room on the highest floor with a view on the Dnepr - it is worst. Hotel is not new but everything is well working.You will be impressed with the lobby. The rooms have everything on basic.
Very plain breakfasts. The same pie for all week, if you are coffee person be ready to have instant . The same 3 cabbages salad and I could not find any differencies. It would be great to improve breakfasts.

nice hotel.

first of all, i didn't stayed there personally. but my co-travelers were stayed there.
they were happy about there stay, food and facilities.
food was good. looks and ambiance is like good old Russian style.

Middle class hotel

The rooms are nothing to write about, spacious but oldtime Ukranian style.
Breakfast is Ukranian style not international standard.
Restaurant is fine with Ukranian/Russian dishes, some of the staff speaking a little english.
