Peaceful

The bungalows are set in the jungle with a mangrove beside. They are clean and the bed was soft. There are 4 dogs who are super friendly. Breakfast was good and simple.
It’s about 15 mins walk to the beach but the route is completely dark at night so not very safe for walking (snakes/motorcycles etc). If you stay here it’s better to plan to rent a motorcycle to get around. You can rent one from Mata; the condition of their bikes is very good.
Mr. Tee and Pla are both super kind and helpful. Overall, a lovely and relaxed place to stay.

Jungle Feeling

Very quiet, in the middle of the jungle, but still close to the beach. Everything’s very tidy, well organized. The bungalow is clean, the bed very comfy. There’s a mosquito net above the bed, the bed linen is very soft (not “silky” material someone mentioned before, it’s cotton). Take an extra blanket or warmer pajamas with you because it can get chilly at night.
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful.
We loved our stay here and will be back for sure.

Awesome place

Amazing location, great service, clean rooms, close to beach. Possibility of renting a scooter, buy boat tickets and much more. Easy transport from the port and back secured.
I highly recommend this place.

Awesome place in paradise

The guesthouse is located between mangroves. Pla and her staff are really friendly and helpful. The Bungalows are very clean, to our surprise we even had a fridge and free water everyday. You can have good basic breakfast, tea and coffee is free of charge. Good scootere for rent. From the guesthouse its a 700 hundret meter nature trail to khao rearub. One of the nicest beaches is a max. 3 Minute scooterride away. We had an awesome stay and are looking forward to come again!

Nicest staff in the world

We stayed at Mata Guesthouse in November 2018 for 3 nights. Pla and the staff are absolutely delightful and will make your stay memorable and positive. The bungalows are looked in the jungle which makes for a peaceful and quiet stay. The accommodations are simple and comparable to other Thai guest houses, but nothing jaw dropping.
I would absolutely stay here again because of the friendliness of the staff and peaceful atmosphere.
