Super property
It really is a very special property. We have stayed several times, yes it’s quite expensive but the service, the rooms, the ambiance, the style, the lighting, the swimming pool, the design etc are all first class. Breakfast is excellent and varied there is no evening meal.

Wonderful stay
Fantastic in every way. The location is excellent being very quiet and private but within easy walking distance to the town centre, breakfasts are very good indeed, the Hotel does not do evening meals.. it only has about 15 rooms. Wonderful swimming pool. The decor throughout is really impressive, the furnishings are all of high quality, the TV systems in the guest room are state-of-art and the building itself is of a most unusual design but is steeped in history and style. Yes its quite expensive for Nan but gosh its a perfect place to stay being stylish, classy, quiet and unique.

Friendly luxury in Nan
We had a wonderful stay in Nirvanan House. This small hotel/b&b is only a year old (in 2018) and centrally located in Nan. Having traveled extensively in Thailand my (Thai) partner and I have been to many parts of the country. To find such a beautiful hotel in an off-the-beaten path city like Nan was a pleasure. Our room was tastefully decorated, everything worked well, and service was great. The public areas of the hotel (lobby, verandas, and pool) are also first class. The pool features a waterfall that is perfect for a massage! The hotel also has bicycles available for guests to get around the city.
The atmosphere of the hotel is like Nan laid back and unassuming. Perhaps the highlight is the fantastic breakfast spread put out each day. They also will prepare specific breakfasts such as American, Thai, etc. if there are fewer guests. As there are only 10 rooms there is not a crowd. We found Nirvanan House to be a perfect cross between a B&B and small hotel.
It is located in the city itself only a couple of blocks from the Walking Street held on weekend evenings and is also near other landmarks. The Walking Street is not to be missed, as unlike so many other Night Bazaars in Thailand - this one is relatively calm, peaceful, with many local musicians playing acoustic music. There is a huge outdoor eating area where you can relax and eat the food bought at the market.
A couple of caveats, is that Nan is not yet (thankfully) overrun by tourists. Most of the tourists we met were Thai. So English or other language may not be as easily understood as in more touristic areas. Also, we were told there were only 10 taxis in the whole city - so rely on the Sangthaew (trucks with benches) to get around if you don't have your own vehicle. Even at the airport there were no taxis. Also as this hotel is new, and we found drivers who were not familiar with it. But everyone in Nan knows Wat Phaya Phu and the hotel is directly in front of the main gate of this Wat, so just use that as your direction. Also, it is a good place to have a printed guide and map as tourist info is mostly written in Thai.
Finally, I would mention the family of the owners of Nirvanan House are on the premises, and they could not be more friendly and welcoming. Nan is a laid back and easy-going city, and the hotel reflects that relaxing atmosphere. If you ever wondered what cities like Chiang Mai were like 30 or 40 years ago, Nan is it - but with some modern amenities like a/c, wi-fi and flush toilets! Nirvanan House is a great place to stay while seeing this part of the country.

An Exquisite Jewel in Nan!
What a great experience in Nan! I was surprised to find such a wonderful place to stay in Nan because many small towns and cities in Thailand only offer 2 or 3-star lodging. The architecture is stunning and our room was small, but luxurious. Impressive attention to detail. The king size bed was comfortable and you had a choice of soft or firmer pillows. The bathroom was gorgeous and functional. We were very comfortable here. Wifi worked well. Parking was secure and convenient. The pool was tempting; however, it was a bit too cool to try it. The property is small and intimate. The breakfast was not as vast as a typical large 5-star hotel, but choices were carefully selected, properly prepared and service was excellent. Hint: They only have 10 rooms so book early if you want to stay there!!

Super de luxe
Hier kom je terecht bij Thaise mensen. Het is een luxe huis met een 9 tal kamers. De familie zorgt voor alles. Ze vragen wat je wil voor ontbijt en de dag erna staat het voor je neus. Er is nog geen toerisme in Nan en hopelijk blijft dit zo. In Nan spreekt bijna niemand engels, er zijn geen bars. Alles is er zeer rustig. Houden zo
