great cheap stay in a great location

walking distance from koh san road golden mount and plenty of street food.
beds seem hard at first but thats beacuse they were brand new and ended up sleeping like a baby we have a video review on our channel seewhatwesee360. great friendly staff and a simple basic breakfast to start your day

Ok, hard mattress, mostly ok

If you are looking for this price range and sleeping in a hostel that's sort of the thing.
I have paid less for more.
The mattress we're super hard but once we fell asleep I guess it was ok
We were asked to take out or flip-flops before going to our room. ( That annoyed me), I guess I am too old for this.
It was 5m from khaosan road,that was good.

Khao San Road

We chose this hostel simply for its location for our last night - less than 10 minute walk to Khao San Road. Check in and check out was straight forward. Rooms were large enough for 6 plus trolleys/back packs with good AC and private bathroom. Good wifi. The next day we were able to leave our baggage's as our flight wasn't till late evening and also managed to use the hostel's shared bathrooms to freshen up before heading to the airport.

Meh...

I didn’t get off to the best start with the Boon Street Hostel.
(If you’re not interested in my short novel below then skip the next paragraph)
We arrived at 7am after an overnight coach journey from Phuket to Bangkok. We were both tired and hadn’t slept to well so were very eager to get in the room and catch up on some sleep. When we arrived I explained this, the gentleman behind the counter informed me that a guest was in the room but was leaving early and the room should be ready for us around 10ish, a little inconvenient for us, but not the hostels fault at all. So we found a cafe and returned around 10am, “room still not ready, come back at 12”. We left it till 1pm to return, at this point both super tired and hot... “Check-in time is 2pm, you’re checking in early, there will be a charge for this”. I couldn’t believe it, I was so hot and flustered, I said with a strop “we’ll wait”. After 10 minutes of sitting staring at the reception desk she caved and let us up.
The room itself was okay, fairly basic, but we’d expected that going in. Toilets and showers were clean and modern. The bed and pillows however were terribly uncomfortable, I have never had such a hard pillow. It’s only benefit was it made a good weapon of self defence should an intruder break in during the night.
Location wise it was pretty good, a 10/15 minute walk from the Grand Palace and a similar distance to a very busy strip of bars and restaurants.
I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

Very hard beds

The location of the hostel is perfect for those looking for Khao San Road or the likes of the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. The staff are very friendly also but there are a huge number of rules that they impose on their guests such as no eating or drinking in the rooms and you have to leave the room between 12:00 and 15:00 (I think these are the correct hours) for cleaning. It is very hard to do anything quietly in this hostel as the walls are thin and the doors have gaps in them, meaning you can hear other guests frequently. The beds are very hard compared to other options in Thailand, preventing a good night’s sleep.
