A splendid location and a comfortable retreat

Scandic Front sits at the eastern end of Sankt Anna Plaeds (more of a long double boulevard than a square) immediately adjoining the Admiral Hotel we stayed in almost two decades ago both of which give access to Ofelia Square overlooking the harbour and the playhouse. So it could not be a more central and yet relaxed a base for exploring Copenhagen. We had a spacious suite with a double bed for myself and my wife and a single bed for my daughter. The beds were a little lumpy as were a group of three chairs around a small table below the TV screen. Another table closer to the door was rather surplus to requirements. A very strange large framed photograph of an unknown (at least to us) elderly gentleman was rather incongruous. The breakfast buffet was superb.

Great location, and if you're lucky, a great view.

We chose the hotel because of the location and the price. The location is really great for exploring both old and new Copenhagen. The room was big enough and had a spectacular view of the harbor and the opera house. The staff, especially in the mornings at breakfast, were very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was also relatively quiet and everything was clean.
However, the hotel has gotten quite old/dated. There's hardly a piece of furniture where the paint/varnish isn't chipping. And given the style of the interior, that doesn't look good.
Still, I'm giving it 4 out of 5 points because we got a good price by Copenhagen standards, the location is great as already mentioned, and we got lucky with the room.

Great location and very good service

The location is top notch, the service level of the staff as well. The hotel is very clean and comfortable.

Very disappointing experience

We booked a Superior Plus room for 2 adults and 2 children, but the foldable sofa bed was broken and not suitable for sleeping. The room was also not properly clean, and unfortunately, the staff were unfriendly and not very helpful.
I raised the issue with three different staff members during our stay and later contacted the hotel by email requesting a partial refund. Despite explaining the situation clearly, the hotel has stopped responding to my emails.
Very disappointing, especially since we had stayed at another Scandic hotel the night before with a similar room setup and had no issues at all. I would not recommend Scandic Front based on this experience.

Dusty and dirty

Our room was full of dirt and dust. There were strands of women's hair on our bed. The toilet bowl in the bathroom was covered in traces of feces. It was the worst hotel experience of my life.
