Accomadation for 2 nights

Stayed two nights , well cleaned and well maintained Friendly Staff and owner mr Wimalaraj. Recommended to stay Dyke Rest.

Great potential but definitely needs improvement

I stayed 2 nights at the dyke rest. The property is located on the beach (absolutely a plus). Excellent location. We tried the food by having lunch directly on the sunbed (exquisite food). The owner is a very lovely person and always super helpful, as is all his staff. Something absolutely unexpected, he didn't make us pay the difference for the upgrade. At first they had assigned us a room (definitely in need of repair) without a window and in the center of the structure but with a bathroom. We requested to make a change (for the first time in our lives) to the room upstairs with a balcony shared with another room overlooking the ocean directly. The room was definitely better but in this case we had to choose not to have the bathroom in the room. There was a bathroom downstairs that theoretically was used only by us. The outdoor space proved fundamental for drying swimsuits, but above all waking up in the morning with a sea view was something wonderful. They are currently doing some work on the property. Cleanliness definitely needs to be improved. My advice, if you want to stay at this property, is to book the ocean-view rooms upstairs even if they don't have an en-suite bathroom!

reservation not honored by the host

We arrived at 2pm following a confirmed booking, the owner informs me that our rooms have been allocated to other guests and that a priori, this happens every day due to overbooking via booking.
We had to retreat to another hotel, not a great one, at the last moment.
Don't make breakfast.

Unfortunately extremely old

The owners are really incredibly nice and helpful and the place is on the most beautiful beach ever! Bathing was just wonderful, a highlight is the great reef for snorkeling. Breakfast costs extra but is delicious and you have a great view of the sea. Unfortunately, everything is really so run down that I cannot give more than 3 stars. The rooms are small, musty, had hardly any outlets and not even a window. The towels were awfully dirty. The tables at breakfast and the loungers on the beach are totally broken and uncomfortable. I think you can really create a little paradise here again with a little investment!

Spot by the sea!

Booked at the last minute. Initially for 2 nights, but ended up staying 5. I have visited several diving schools in the area and would also look for other rooms. But waking up to the sound of the waves, the rising sun shining through the windows, the fishermen pulling in the nets in the morning... makes it a special spot! Met a lot of nice people and the owner and Moses were also super nice. For convenience, we also rented a scooter to drive around the city. Everyone very relaxed! Recommended!
(For the slightly taller people, watch your head and sleeping diagonally is fine on a double bed ☺️)
