best italian at the mosel

family-run hotel right on the Moselle in the old town with its own restaurant; bicycle garage, tasteful, clean rooms and rich, traditional Italian food; there also seem to be many locals who like to spend their evening, which is an expression of the quality of the cuisine. highly recommended location.

Arrive in time for breakfast or the boss will show her unkindest side.

Apart from the excellent location of the hotel, the friendly welcome of the boss for my stay was the only pleasant thing in the hotel. I'm upset about the boss's impossible behavior: I was rang out of bed the first morning so I could get to breakfast in time for 9:30. When asked about this, the boss explained this to me with a problem with the telecom (was only a house telephone system without a public connection). Shortly before half past 10, the buffet was cleared loudly rattling and my plates were also taken off the table. Only my coffee cup I was "allowed" to keep. A decidedly unfriendly boss, who then gave me her first job on Feb. Tomorrow I wanted to assign a breakfast table, the loudest and most uncomfortable place in the almost empty room.
My mattress was very sagged.

Well, yes!

The location of the hotel is very good, but at night by night owls rather laborious. Small room in the 4th floor, renovated for some time. Floor without lift and air conditioning. The bed was actually comfortable, but the hot temperatures in the attic were responsible for little sleep. The service at breakfast was rather distant. Upon our arrival we were criticized for parking a wheel between 2 potted plants. Basically, the friendliness can be improved. The bike room with charging stations was nearby and good.

Impossible

On a cycling trip we were accommodated by our organizer in this hotel.
The rooms are very small, you can hardly walk around the bed or put the suitcase open. The furniture is old and worn out and the shower so small that you can hardly enter it, let alone move in it.
We didn't eat at the hotel, so we can't say anything about the restaurant.
The breakfast was more than clear, the offer very simple. The waitress, presumably the lady of the house, literally swept the guests out of the room after breakfast, although breakfast time was not yet over. An impossible service.

The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but very clean...

... as is the whole house. The hosts are very friendly, the restaurant, where breakfast is served, is very cozy and very clean. The breakfast is very good for the price. The location is very central, you can go anywhere in Zell from there.
All in all, price/performance = very good.
