Treated Like Family

We booked 4 rooms in May, 2014 to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. We had stayed here before and had a wonderful experience. This time was even better because we chose to eat dinner a couple of times at the hotel restaurant and it was spectacular as was the wine and the staff. The owner, Andreas, especially made us feel welcome making sure all of our needs were carefully met. He and his staff were always friendly and extremely helpful in every way. The rooms are comfortable and very clean with ample space. The hotel is a short 15 minute drive from Speyer and approx. 30 minutes from Heidelberg. The town itself has wonderful little shops and restaurants and doesn't seem to be too far from any of the sights. We were able to drive to many different towns as well as Strasbourg, France with no problem at all. Whenever we visit our family, we are sure to return to this little gem because we know we will be treated like family. Thank you Andreas and everyone who was so dear to us during our stay.

On Its Last Legs...

Horrible place. The grounds are run down, there is no landscaping, there is an extremely filthy pool on the side front. The doors were locked when we arrived in the early afternoon to check in. You have to call, and a man gives you a number to punch in. There were a bunch of keys to rooms just laying in the desk. No security!! We couldn't get the elevator to go to the 2nd floor. Later, we found there was a trick to that. The weather was extremely hot that week - there is no air conditioning. My husband went to the front desk after a "manager" had come in and asked about the air. An employee took us to a linen closet, and gave us a fan with dirt and bugs in and on it. The windows in the room have no screens (more bugs). Bad vibrations all around. We had to stay a 2nd night: somehow our bed was made, but our towels were not picked up, and we had to go to get our fresh towels. There is no breakfast served. and no staff to check you out. This was probably nice at one time, but the grounds are horrible and there is no service. Next time we will go to the city of Karlsrhue down the road.

Above expectations

The combination of aspects like room comfort, wi-fi coverage from the room to the restaurant, nice personnel and unexpected food high quality, brings me to say that lodging here is definitely recommendable!

Solides Hotel

Wir hatten spontan hier gebucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Zimmer groß ebenso das Bad. Dazu sauber. Hotel an und für sich auch nett eingerichtet.
Das Frühstück war für den Preis völlig in Ordnung.
Personal sehr nett. Das einzige die Rollläden Dunkeln die Zimmer nicht gut ab. Wer empfindlich ist sollte eine Schlafmaske mitnehmen.
