Beautiful two days on Lake Tegernsee
Particularly to highlight it is super friendly staff excellent!!
Also the breakfast terrace of the restaurant is a dream with views over the whole lake is beautiful
The the somewhat strange surprise for my birthday were two bottles of Tegernseer Pils in a champagne cooler
I didn't find this a very successful birthday surprise as a woman
Maybe meant to be sweet, but still a little off
Two weeks later we celebrated my child's birthday at the Hotel Bachmeier on Lake Tegernsee
There was a bottle of champagne and a little cake in the room as a surprise
That was something else
Apart from birthday I can recommend the hotel wholeheartedly!!!

Breathtaking Views & Architecture, but Poor Service Experience
Unfortunately, the service was far from 5-star quality. I arrived after 10 PM and was left completely on my own — no valet parking, no staff assistance with luggage, even though my room was on the second floor with no elevator. Staff on duty did not speak English, making the arrival even more difficult.
Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful dining room that perfectly reflects the grandeur of the hotel. But with only two staff for many guests, service was slow and supervisors stood by without helping.
The room itself was spacious and well-equipped with all expected amenities (iron, board, bathrobe, slippers). It was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable.
Overall, this is a hotel to choose for its architecture, views, and comfort — but not if you expect attentive, professional service. For couples or families who value design, it may still be enjoyable. But business travelers, or anyone expecting international 5-star standards, should be prepared for disappointment.
Warning: don’t expect service that matches the beauty of the hotel.

There is nothing to eat after 10:00 PM.
Wonderful view of the lake and the mountains.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to eat after 10:00 PM. As a result, we and our fellow travelers ordered 4 pizzas to go from the Italian restaurant and then ate them in the hotel bar while drinking beverages from the hotel.
We find it unfortunate that there are no small dishes (e.g., club sandwiches) available after 10:00 PM. How is a guest treated who arrives at Munich Airport at 10:00 PM and reaches the hotel at 11:30 PM and is still hungry? In our opinion, there is urgent potential for improvement here.

Since May 2011 every year again, since March 2026 never again!!
We have been coming for 15 years ( short break to Corona ) last visit 2025 and have accepted the enormous price increases in relation to the very small rooms , in relation to the rooms in the Egenern Höfe or Althoff Seehotel , because ,, the Tegernsee , was always our hotel on the Tegernsee. Yesterday came the crash, we can't arrive because there is an exclusive booking. Meaning exclusive in front of booked children (are not the only ones it concerns) From now on it is NOT our hotel anymore. We wait for the Severin or go to the Egener Höfe. The joke was then also afterwards, we could cancel for free, which we could cancel for free via booking anyway until 1.5. We're so mad and if that's how you deal with customers then we and many of our friends who have been here for years have now made the right decision!
