Centrally located hotel at the train station.

Large hotel directly at the main train station in Munich.
Room in the top floor was okay. Large bathroom.
Noise from the construction site at the train station was a bit annoying during the day, but quiet at night.
Parking in the courtyard. Tram and bus directly in front of the hotel.
Staff friendly and helpful.
We did not take advantage of breakfast.
Recommended.

Convenient stay with an amazing breakfast

I had a great stay at the Europa Hotel.
​Location: Excellent. It is right in front of the central train station. There is a lot to do nearby, and it is very close to the city center.
​Rooms: They are on the smaller side, but still comfortable. There is no air conditioning, so it can get a bit hot in the summer, but it was acceptable.
​Breakfast: This was the highlight! The breakfast is excellent and very abundant. It is a buffet-style with a huge variety of hot and cold options. Definitely one of the best parts of the stay.
​Service: The hotel offers 24/7 reception and free Wi-Fi, which made everything very easy and convenient.
​Overall, a great choice if you are looking for a practical place to stay in Munich.

First and foremost, the hotel is very convenient. It is literally across the street from Munich's main train station, making arrival and departure from the city effortless; it's also within walking distance of many of Munich's major attractions. That's why I gave the hotel 3-stars instead of lower, which I would have based on the room we stayed in. The room was fairly small and cramped, but the bathroom was especially so. The bathroom door didn't open all the way because it hit the towel rack inside (I'm pretty slender, but a larger person would have a problem squeezing through). But it gets worse: The ceiling over the bathtub is quite low, only about 5'6" (168 cm), so even though I'm only 5'9" (175 cm), I had to bend my head forward to take a shower! Also, it was very hot in Munich during our stay. Although I knew there was no air conditioning in the room, it was advertised as having a fan, which it did, but there were problems. First, it was a ceiling fan and it was located over the desk rather than the beds (so it didn't keep us cool at night). To make matters worse, the ceiling lights were located above the fan, so that it created a strobe-effect when the fan was on. I asked at the front desk about getting a table-top fan, but they said they had none to spare. After a sweaty, sleepless night, I went downstairs and asked again about a fan; luckily, a different man at the desk provided me with one. But EVERY room should come with an effective fan included during the summer.

Value for money is right

You always have to look at what you are rating, and the location near the main train station is top; in addition, it is clean, you have friendly staff, and when I arrived, everyone received a free bottle of water. What did bother me, however, is that there is no air conditioning, and the ceiling fan as well as the regular one simply aren't enough in this summer when it is hot. However, it is great that you have 2, and considering the price and everything else, it is a good, affordable alternative in Munich, though optimal only when it is under 30 degrees.

Good location but a claustrophobic oven

The only good thing about this hotel is that it is centrally located. THIS HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE AC so not a good fit for the summer. The advertised ceiling fan did not exist in my room - only a medium floor fan was provided. It is too noisy to open the windows at night to cool down. The single room is tiny and completely claustrophobic, even compared to other modest European hotels I’ve used. I left after one night because it was unlivable, and the hotel would not reimburse.
