Ambiance.
Great and modern renovated old inn in the middle of Markdorf. Exposed concrete on the ceilings takes some getting used to, but is stylish. Beds are a bit hard, but better than the other way around. We slept well. Rooms are spacious, as is the bathroom and the shower. Fitted kitchen with everything one needs. Pleasant restraint regarding furniture and (nonexistent) decor. Some windows offer a view of the Alps.

Booking, check-in, and check-out were contactless and online. Access via key code, which was sent via WhatsApp. Very professional, very quick, straightforward, and simply good.
Price/performance
Absolutely top-notch. For the proximity to Lake Constance, it is good and affordable.
