Boat trip from Sneek.

In the afternoon, we arrived with our boat; the check-in was quick. The clean docks had electricity and water included.
In the evening, we enjoyed delicious asparagus dishes, along with a great aperitif.
The staff was attentive and considerate.
All in all, it was very successful. We would gladly return (with or without a boat).

One could, if one wanted to...

...but one wants too little to actually do so.
No greeting at the reception, but consequently, the farewell went as follows: "Good morning, I would like to check out." "Okay," said the employee and turned away wordlessly.
At the restaurant, one was barked at with "Free seating!!!" for their own greeting for the evening, but the chosen seat was indeed wrong. So, I received another rude comment. The service here is also super rude; one actually felt completely out of place. If there had been an alternative within reach, we would have left.
No TV channel list whatsoever (after over 1000 programs, I eventually gave up trying to find a working ZDF channel - the reception was also no longer staffed).
The staff member at the bar was friendly. The room was just bearable in temperature even without air conditioning - but in the morning it was stuffy after all.
Rooms are noisy; starting at 6:00, the doors slam into the locks - but what can one do, they won't close any other way.
Will we come back? Certainly not.
And even the three stars are more to be understood as potential; I would give 2.5 and have rounded up.

Great breakfast! Nice room and great bathroom. Unfortunately, all written information is not provided in English, which would be useful for international guests. Loved hiking in the nearby forest and riverside.

A very nicely located hotel with great service and good food.

We spent a short vacation with three nights at the hotel by the waterfall in Lingen during the Pentecost holidays in 2026. The room was a bit dated but very spacious and clean. The spa area is located in the basement. It is very well equipped with fitness equipment, sauna, relaxation room, and swimming pool. The location of the hotel is really great. Due to the beautiful weather, we were able to enjoy the delicious food, drinks, and the view of the Ems in the outdoor area. Here, we would like to extend our special thanks to the staff in service. We were served excellently and very kindly. However, I must also express a bit of negative criticism.
The hotel has its own club named "Sandbank." In the outdoor area of the hotel, there was advertising that a celebration would take place in the "Sandbank" on Saturday, May 23, 2026, starting at 9:00 PM. After dinner at the hotel, around 10:00 PM, we visited the club. The club has the charm of a 90s disco, which I did not find to be bad. Approximately. 15 guests were present in the premises. The two service staff behind the bar (two young women aged between 18 and 25) appeared to be extremely disinterested and clueless. Both were playing on their phones the entire time, without attending to the guests. When I then dared to ask for two drinks (Sambuca, please lit), I was only looked at reproachfully and questioningly. I repeated my request for "two Sambucas," which I then received (unfortunately not lit). The same unfortunately applies to the DJ. I observed guests asking him for a song request (three little birds by Bob Marley). He just brushed them off and replied: "I don't have it!" Mind you, there were only about 15 people present. At exactly 1:00 AM, I went to the outdoor area. There were still four people asking for entry, after which the doors to the club were closed behind us, so we could no longer enter the club.
Thus, a beautiful day with great food and very good service unfortunately ended with a bad feeling.

Beautiful location. Very friendly and warmhearted staff throughout the hotel. We like everything in this hotel.
