Good package, but aging hotel and uneven service.
The welcome is pleasant and the first impression is quite good, with a neat entrance and an appreciable scented atmosphere. The sauna is also a real plus, especially for those who like very hot saunas.
On the other hand, the rest of the hotel convinced us much less. The establishment is aging, the pool is small and dated, and the areas around the sauna like the locker rooms and showers clearly deserve a renovation. In the room, several details hindered our stay: beds not made upon our arrival, lack of soap, tissues almost empty, and a general impression of fairly average finishing.
We also appreciated the pleasant surprise of the parking being included without it being mentioned, which represents a significant saving and improves the overall experience a little.
In the end, the stay remains decent thanks to the package and a few good points, but the hotel did not seem to us to be at the level of a true 4-star hotel.

We stayed 2 nights at Mercure Köln West as part of a Weekendesk package including the hotel, breakfast, one day at Phantasialand, and a welcome drink.
The welcome is pleasant and the first impression is quite good, with a nice entrance and a pleasant fragrance in the lobby. The sauna is also a real highlight, especially for those who enjoy very hot saunas.
However, the rest of the hotel was much less convincing. The property feels old, the pool is small and outdated, and the areas around the sauna such as the changing rooms and showers clearly need renovation. In the room, several details affected our stay: the beds were not made on arrival, there was no soap, the tissues were almost empty, and overall the room felt rather average in terms of finishing.
We also appreciated the pleasant surprise of free parking, even though it was not mentioned, which represents a meaningful saving and improves the overall experience a little.
In the end, the stay was acceptable thanks to the package and a few good points, but the hotel did not really feel like a true 4-star property.
