Wonderful Staff, Wonderful Room (Parking is something to be aware of but wouldn't steer me away from staying again)

This was a truly beautiful, quaint hotel and the couple that ran it was absolutely the sweetest. If you are unfamiliar with Cochem, make sure you research before you come. It's a vineyard type town and a good deal of the lodging (including this hotel) are steeply uphill and not directly accessible during the most crowded hours of the day. However, you can travel around the back side to park. Parking requires payment per day, however you have a guaranteed, assigned spot available to you. Parking is above the hotel meaning if you have luggage that you are toting, you might be better off toting down a small bag with any valuables you might have as you will be lugging suitcases up and down steep stairs otherwise. With all of that said, the rooms were absolutely wonderful. Ours had a little balcony where you could sit and sip a warm drink, etc. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the hotel is well kept. The neighboring hotel did have some noisy guests but they quieted down at a reasonable time and the hotel itself was quite lovely and quiet. The service was outstanding. Breakfast was wonderful and they even offer an option to have eggs custom made for you. The view of the castle from the steps of the hotel is outstanding (we could also see it from our room). Very impressed and would definitely stay here again.

Very good and recommended location.

Nicely located hotel with neat and clean rooms with great views of Moselle and Reichsburg. Very nice, friendly and attentive hosts. Good breakfast, egg variants on request, fresh bread and rolls daily. Bicycle garage with charging possibility for e-bike as well as tools for minor repairs. Private parking is available a few minutes away. The ascent to the hotel is short and steep - Mosellage level.
On our next visit to Cochem we will book the Villa Tummelchen again!

Nice location, cosiness....

Nicely located, within walking distance everything is within easy reach. However, sometimes very arduous, because the villa is located on a mountain - very steeply rising. Room/furnishing a bit old, but cozy. ATTENTION: the bathroom has NO heating! (That was very uncomfortable for me.) Breakfast buffet is good. All fresh and delicious. Egg wishes are queried every morning. Which then takes some time until you have the boiled egg on the table. (On the last day the egg came straight and unsolicited! That was great!) Parking is a bit off, accessible via the steep castle road. The first parking on the yard of the villa is also a bit "special", as not only the castle road is already very steep but also the driveway to the villa is once again a number steeper.

They think of everything

MOTORCYCLES be aware. It’s tricky to drive to the garage. The safest way is by following the detailed instructions that they send you in advance by email. DO NOT follow your satnav.
Accommodation and breakfast were very good. The hosts very friendly and helpful.
