Lovely stay with breakfast improvement required
Overall lovely stay. We spent two nights at the hotel and I was a bit nervous about the self check in but it turned out to be easy to access the terminal and there was a staff member to assist..
Pros:
- Exceptionally clean and modern rooms
- Rooms have all the required amenities including hairdryer, iron and ironing board ( you don’t have to call to request it), Nescafé machine with coffee pods and kettle
- luggage can be stored in individual lockers with a 4 digit personalized code
- free water (still and sparkling) at reception area
- free apples
- modern entrance hall and honesty bar
- central location - a few minutes walk to metro, tram is across the road, walking distance to cathedrals and museums
Cons
- cold breakfast only with boiled eggs and salamis. This needs improvement to include hot options such as scrambled eggs, mushrooms etc
Overall. Lovely stay. I’d stay here again but wouldn’t pay extra for the breakfast. They charge 18 euros per person. There are cafes in the area close by that offer breakfast.

Unorganized, uncharming, dirty hotel
We booked this hotel by accident, intending to book the Classik Hotel Alexander Plaza. Reeeaaally wish we got that one right.
Started out by not recieving pre-check in info by mail for everyone. When we arrived, the lobby smelled of overripe fruit and was full of fruit flies. No employees to be seen, and the check in-computers did not work. Tried calling but were not successful. Eventually one friendly but seemingly confused kitchen employee turned up and was able to tell us that check in was closed until 15:00, and that the machines had been broken for days (no info of this unless you ask, though). Then kept asking if we were checking out. As we then needed to store luggage until 15:00 we checked out their storage lockers, where 1/3 was occupied, 1/3 broken, and 1/3 too small for our luggage. We were told by said employee that he and another employee who was there would handle our check in and store our luggage until we got back, but was unable to tell us where. He ensured us it would be ok and that he would be there when we got back.
We decided to head out and when we got back, to no surprise no one was there. Eventually two completely different employees turned up, who were also fully confused, running around like headless chickens, one of them not even in uniform. They had no clue about our rooms, the luggage we stored or the employees we talked to, and seemed to get annoyed when we kept asking where they put our luggage. When they eventually were able to manually check us in they could for some reason only produce 4 room cards for 7 people, and one of them was marked for the wrong room.
When we got to our rooms luckily the luggage was there but no one seemed to know this until we got there. Bedroom itself was ok, but rooms all overlook a noisy, busy tram stop and a sex shop. Water bottle and glasses were dirty, as was the shower which was also full of black mold and silverfish. Beware that for a two night stay there will be no housekeeping, no towel service or emptying bins.
Breakfast was minimal and just ok. Floors were incredibly dirty and sticky.
Checking out only 2/4 rooms had gotten the check out info on email so we eventually gave up, left our cards and left.
What a bummer that this is what we ended up with for a special celebratory family trip. Won't ever come back here.

Recommended
Problem-free self check in, access with door code possible, very comfortable beds. Free water dispenser in the lobby. Air conditioning allows closed windows, therefore quiet despite central location on Hackescher Markt. Breakfast possible in the green courtyard, overall very mood in the hotel. Friendly staff. We liked it a lot.

Super happy with the stay. Easy self check-in, nice room, nice location. Ok breakfast. I liked the lockers for luggage, and the common area was nice and practical!

I recently stayed at Classik Hotel Hackescher Markt and had such a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked into my room, I was impressed by how immaculate it was, incredibly clean, modern, and beautifully presented. It felt cosy and welcoming straight away. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like having an iron in the room, which made things so convenient. The heating worked perfectly during the chilly Berlin weather, and the shower had great water pressure, which was a lovely bonus after long days of exploring.
The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious and genuinely something to look forward to. It was a classic breakfast selection done perfectly, with their own homegrown honey and incredibly fresh, delicious croissants that tasted amazing. It really set us up for the day.
A special mention has to go to Supun Chamei, who truly made our stay even more memorable. He was amazing, so professional, caring, and genuinely helpful. He gave us fantastic advice about food spots to visit and which trains to take to get around Berlin quickly and easily. He even took the time to show us how to use the storage lockers and regularly asked how our stay was going. You could tell he genuinely loves Berlin and takes pride in his job, which made such a difference to our experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berlin. It is cosy, clean, well located, and staffed by people who truly care about their guests.
