Wonderful stay

Beautiful little loving hotel, breakfast perfect, lots of regional, BIO, lots of fresh fruit and healthy bakery rolls, wonderful view of the old town and short distances to it, parking available, very nice communication

The whole house as well as the garden show taste, attention to detail and a lot of commitment.

Wonderful stay.

Wonderful little boutique hotel. Great value for money. Delicious breakfast with mostly local and homemade foods. The perfect stay (it's very reasonably priced too!) and we look forward to returning again some day. Thank you to the lovely team of ladies who were looking after us!

Christmas in Bautzen at Alte Gerberie

Stayed for five nights mid-December, 2018 to experience the Christmas Markets in Bautzen, Gorlitz, Lobau and, finally, Dresden. Bautzen is a lovely small town with beautiful boutique-style shops and quaint restaurants. The town was done up with large and small Christmas trees and low-key Christmas lights. The hotel, Alte Gerberei is located at the base of a picturesque medieval tower that had previously formed part of the city walls. My room at the hotel was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was B&B style in either of two cozy dining areas. My host, Kathrin, was friendly with a "Guten Morgen" and breakfast. The hotel is centrally located approximately midway between Gorlitz (worth a visit) and Dresden (obviously worth a visit). Overall, my stay at Alte Gerberei was as relaxing and enchanting as I had hoped it would be and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a similar, relaxing holiday during the Christmas season.

Cool place to visit Bautzen/Budziszyn

The hotel is perfectly located in an old building on the bank of the Spree river opposite the old town. It is a good place to get some rest (the river will put you to sleep in no time) while most of the local attractions are just a few minutes away, you just have to cross a bridge and climb some steps. Sizeable rooms with comfy beds, parking on site, tasty and ample breakfast, everything one needs to enjoy the capital of Łużyce.
